He has become the new Michael Douglas in terms of violations of privacy but like Michael I have no doubt Steve will beat this and return to good health

I don't really like Steve, I think he's a ruthless, greedy control freak but this video... whoever filmed it should feel guilty. And to repeat it like that in slow motion is just showing a really poor level of respect. How would the person who filmed it like it if someone went around filming their relative struggle with an illness when all they want is some peace?

geez, if this turns into a discussion about the "pros vs. cons" or "right to vs. ethics of" the paparazzi, it will go on to no end. Steve Jobs is a public figure, and that's who the paparazzi take pictures of. He knows paparazzi will follow him, if he was ashamed or feeling sorry for himself he would have ordered in or had his personal chef make something. He's obviously feeling up to going out and being part of society, and he knows having his picture/video taken is just part of that. My father died of cancer in 2004, and he didn't want people to NOT take pictures of him, or treat him differently because he became emaciated and such. Feeling sorry for anyone is not the route to take, they have their own pride, dignity, and self worth...that type of stuff is not for us to decide, and taking their picture is not doing them any injustice.

It's good to see him out, I hope he is feeling well, and hope to see him on March 2nd!

Well said!

Now let's hope Steve Jobs gets well soon again so we don't get Stewie Griffin taking over Apple.

6 weeks?

On Sky News last night, someone mentioned that he might have just 6 weeks left!!! Have just looked around the web this morning, and there's an awful lot of quoting the National Enquirer and the rumour seems quite widespread - surely not, please...

I imagine Steve gets alot more attention from random people than your father did. I see what you mean about wanting to be treated the same, that's fine, but how do you think this is helping Steve's dignity? They focused pretty much on the fact that he appeared to stumble a bit, that's not dignifying the situation nor is it treating him like he hasn't got a medical issue. The video is specifically repeated over and over just to focus on the stumble because apparently someone thinks Steve Jobs isn't human and is immune to all illnesses.

Like I said, its not just the taking pictures issue - the guy has a job to do and I appreciate that, but they could have been a bit more tasteful in how they edited the video.

"that type of stuff is not for us to decide, and taking their picture is not doing them any injustice."

Slight contradiction there.

I agree. :(
I questioned whether or not I should even post it as it gave me the creeps, but decided in the end that more information is better and that the news will be made available one way or another. I just hope he gets well soon....

The proper choice would have been not to post this. Now this is just one more outlet for this to get spread around. This is not information you are posting. It's simply rumors and gossip. What if you got really sick and someone took pictures and video of you every time you left the house and posted them online and in magazines? He really deserves to be left alone and given some privacy!

Honestly I would not read much into that video of him looking frail other than he is having treatment at a cancer center.
Reason being chances are he just went threw a treatment and right after they finish something like that you are in pretty crappy shape as your body has just been put threw the ringer and it needs some time to rest.

Chemo is really harsh on the body. Could be 2-3 days later he is moving around better but right after a treatment I would not expect much out of him.

In all honesty, I think we're seeing something wrong because we're told to. I don't think he looked too bad. Awkward? Yes. But the head of a computer company is expected to be.

I refuse to watch the video just to see what he is looking like these days.

I want to have some respect for someone who is suffering from cancer. My Grandpa went through that and it's not a a nice thing at all.

Sad to watch, but on a positive note, he's out and about. Personally, I'd hide away at home, but he chooses to go to a restaurant for breakfast. Get well soon.

Good for you. I don't think it's very nice that Steve has attracted all this media attention; he's asked for privacy and so that should be respected.
