Another one with scrolling stops in Safari. i am using Orion now, and waiting for a new version of Safari.
I've updated and it keeps happening.Direct link for Safari 17.2.1 for Monterey
https://swcdn.apple.com/content/dow...cmw1qdkxjhpm6bch/Safari17.2.1MontereyAuto.pkg
no issues here at all and i use d.d.go as my safari search vehicle …I can confirm issues with Safari 17.1 on Monterey 12.7.1.
DuckDuckGo intermittently freezes and stops responding to scrolling.
How do I do this? I saved the error message that MacOS wanted to send to Apple . . . Would that be helpful?@Engender you can use activity monitor to take a sample of what is doing whilst frozen. Odds are it's a rogue extension.
you could always install ddgo’s own browser and see how you get onI've updated and it keeps happening.
I'll do what @msephton suggests, but I have deleted all the extensions.
Yeah, but Safari syncs all my passwords.you could always install ddgo’s own browser and see how you get on
It seems it will import passwords but unfortunately it does not sync with the Keychain during use so it's useless if one uses the Keychain across devices as most Mac users do. Same problem with Chrome and it is the only reason I have to use Safari. One could use an external password manager but I've yet to find one that can seemlessly replace the Keychain in the whole ecosystem.so will the duck 🤓

despite my previous plumping for monterey, i just did the same. What doesn't look good about it? I can't really parse it at all. My only guess is that Safari appeared to be making calls to a second CPU, and I only have one six-core.
I just rolled the dice and installed Ventura. That's proved to be maybe not such a great bet after a couple of days ...
Great advice. Wish I followed it :-(Again and again I will say and tell people if your system works the way you like it, stop upgrading. I miss the features they took away more than I want the new ones.
Safari 17.3.1 has been released and no, it doesn't.Writing to update. Safari 17.3 still has freezing issue on Monterey 12.7.3.
Thank you for pointing this out. Just updated to 17.3.1 to no avail: first search in DDG resulted in frozen window.Safari 17.3.1 has been released and no, it doesn't.
Is it actually frozen or is that how you refer to scrolling not working?Thank you for pointing this out. Just updated to 17.3.1 to no avail: first search in DDG resulted in frozen window.
