Chrome has cloud syncing, and runs on all platforms. I have not tested it, but it should work as advertised.

I am using Safari since v 3.x and never felt like using anything else. I would suggest you spend a week with it and see for yourself what works better for you.

Chrome does not have iCloud support and never will. Thats what people are talking about. If you have iOS devices the addition of more iCloud features in Mountain Lion is fantastic. Makes it really hard to not use all Apple devices which is of course Apples intent.
Googles cloud offerings in general are amateurish compared to what Apple is offering.
I prefer Safari and the new version is very good. Smoother and faster. I use Reader a lot and the Chrome version which is some extension is not nearly as good.
Plus I'm really not interested in Google tracking everything I do through Chrome.
I see why people like Chrome and I've tried switching multiple times but it never works out.

----------

Therefore speaking only for myself, I'm interested in speed, efficiency, usefulness & stability. I don't care who makes it :)

I don't see anyone saying they care who makes it. Looks like all the Safari users have specific reasons for using it over Chrome.

----------

I love Chrome on Windows (except for the most visited page, which has become useless due to Google not allowing you to customize it anymore...why it needs 3 links to my email is beyond me), I just can't like it on OS X. There's a certain lack of polish to it--small inconsistencies with the rest of the OS that make it less nice to use. It does have a few features I wish Safari had, but they're not enough to get me to switch.

Agree, I use Chrome on my Work Windows laptop but its' not as good on OS X. Surprising because all you see at Google are Macs for the most part.

I would not touch Chrome with a 10 feet pole. Google has done so much wrong in the privacy department in the recent years that I do not have the least sympathy for this corporation.

-Back/forward swiping animation rocks
-Download window looks way better. I may be just a noob with Chrome but I hate their download system. It shows a bar at the bottom of the screen. If I (x) that bar, it disappears and I have no idea how to get it reappear. If I recall correctly, I also don't see how fast the download is going and only see the time remaining.
-Chrome randomly asked for access to my contacts, which I denied.

That's really all I care about. If you need extensions, Chrome and Firefox are probably better suited for you. All I need is FastestTube and I'm set. Safari is way more stable for me than before and even when it does crash, it'll reopen right back to where it was at before it crashed so it's not a big deal.

Yeah Chrome asked for access to my contacts too. Why in the world does it want that? I promptly denied and uninstalled Chrome right away.

I like the extra privacy feature of ML though.

Discrete Graphics

I installed the ML GM yesterday and noticed that Chrome forces discrete graphics mode, thus increasing battery drain. Safari does not do this.

I started using Safari tonight, after being a long time Chrome fan.
And I must say, Safari 6 looks and feels very nice!

----------

Is it normal for Safari to use this much memory with 1 tab open?

Safari 6 > Chrome

Chrome is slow and buggy in my experience. The amount of Sad Mac tabs I get is just ludicrous.

My suggestion would be that there is something wrong with your Chrome, because thats the complete opposite to the experience of myself and many others.

I'd start with your extensions and plugins.

----------

Yeah Chrome asked for access to my contacts too. Why in the world does it want that?

My guess is it is something to do with either your web patterns or an extension you run, because I've been using Chrome extensively on ML and not been asked yet.

After I installed Chrome it also asked for access to my contacts. I had no exensions and never used it before so it had nothing to do with web patterns. I think this is just the default behavior.

It has never asked for access to my contacts, not on any machine I've ever installed Chrome on.

I think it is most likely that the contacts request is related to your form filling settings in Chrome as it probably wants to look up your full name to use in forms.

You won't get this prompt until you reach this type of form.

That sounds sensible.

Canada, Eh?
Chrome has been causing kernel panics on my mac. I use to love chrome so much that i download another 2 variants of it which are the original Chromium and RockMelt based on Chrome, and of course, Google Chrome itself. Its really hard to change too, with the same reasons as you and also I'm on an Android and integration with Chrome on android is amazing.

Webkit

You can prefer Safari all you want, but you have to recognize that Safari wouldn't be nearly as good as it is if Google hadn't done a goatload of work making Webkit faster for Chrome.

I meant for CHROME and ones which might be causing ISSUES for CHROME....but I think you know that.

Mate, read back through the posts, you're the one who decided to start being a jerk off in response to me genuinely trying to offer you a suggestion as to a cause of your problem. You're just not big enough to admit you took what I said the wrong way and ran with it.

You ought to know when you have been owned

How does you knowing some javascript and a safari extension have anything to do with what I or you were talking about? We were talking about Chrome and Chrome extensions...It has absolutely nothing to do with what we were talking about...

Sure then buddy... Your e-penis is bigger than mine and I've been "owned" by a photographer who knows enough javascript to make himself a browser extension. He then links to said extension in a completely off-topic manner in order to "own" people.

You win. Keep up with your hardcore html coding pwnage.

Also, SICKB0Y and ErikGrim, why can't we be friends?:)
