Hi guys,

I have had Safari crashing on me at the randomest times.
I could be 3 tabs open, one tab open, youtube, apple website, it doesnt matter. randomly crashes, and the crash dialog box shows.

Anyone else experiencing it?
Running latest stable versions of everything.

Thanks!

Same here. Happened numerous times to me. Also, everything is up to date. I hope they fix this in the next update. It's quite annoying.

Mine crashes when my monitor goes to sleep. I get it back going, and Safari has crashed. Happened since I got my M1 Mini.

<...> Safari <...>
Running latest stable versions
That's your problem right there. I have both Safari beta and Safari stable installed and I do treat the stable one as beta as it's so bad and I didn't have a single issue (not 1) with the real beta yet LMAO.

PS. Safari rel. 117

I was having issues with Safari crashing too. I uninstalled 1Blocker and the crashes went away. Currently using Wipr and haven't had any crashes with it.

I had a problem with Safari crashing, but when I turned off all my extensions except the ad blocker, the crashes stopped.
Hmmm that is interesting, and by the sounds of it one of the causes.
I had Honey (money saver extension) but uninstalled it, and still having the issues.

How awkward that stable versions of one of Apples core programs keeps crashing. the other day I was an hour into live chat support and it crashed. Had to start again.

Crashing and crashing... Still... Not sure what else to do. Hoping for an update to fix this.

I crash every day. It crashes at sites that require lots of scrolling. The problem happens on the AOL news site and on the Yahoo! Finance site. Thought it was related to Safari, but I loaded the AOL site in Firefox and boom, a crash there too.

I have a crash about every 2nd-3rd day. it's usually not doing anything. I just have Evernote Web Clipper, Wipr, and DuckDuckGo extensions installed.

My M1 MBA (with Big Sur) randomly crashes while I'm watching YouTube. There's no consistency as to when it crashes but it does. I can be watching something on YouTube, then the audio goes out then my MBA restarts. It doesn't do this with Chrome and YouTube.

Any ideas?

Same here on my mini with Big Sur and it was never like this on Catalina. It just randomly crashes, maybe clicking on a tab, writing something in a forum or nothing at all. On one occasion it crashed why the mini was asleep and I only knew hours later. I'd say it's crashing 2-3 times a day. It has become the least stable app on this computer.

I installed 11.2 yesterday afternoon and not used Safari that much, but no more crashes since then, which is looking positive so far.

I now have my second M1 (long story) but I have never had a Safari crash on either of them.
As far as extensions go I only have Adguard running, nothing else.
Have you tried running Safari with all extensions turned off? Just as a test.

I updated to 11.2 on the day it came out, Feb 1. So far for me to Safari crashes. I did have one in Reminders though, first time for that.

Just to quickly add - I think the problem is solved👍 Recently I have been on the 11.3 Beta and the problem was exacerbated. I was restarting two or three times a day while in Safari. On Thursday Night I download and installed Beta two. No crashes on Friday and I tried everything that would induce a restart - Nada. And, today no crashes. So let's keep a good thought - Maybe it's been fixed👏
