Just to quickly add - I think the problem is solvedđź‘Ť Recently I have been on the 11.3 Beta and the problem was exacerbated. I was restarting two or three times a day while in Safari. On Thursday Night I download and installed Beta two. No crashes on Friday and I tried everything that would induce a restart - Nada. And, today no crashes. So let's keep a good thought - Maybe it's been fixedđź‘Ź

Five full days now - All GOOD đź‘Ť

And, on the sixth day, I crashed and restarted this morningđź‘Ž

Bitwarden's current Safari extension is known to crash on M1 Macs.
I disabled mine and it's been fine since.
It's frustrating to not have that extension working, but it's even more frustrating to have Safari crash.

My Safari has been crashing randomly depending on the website. Before I got to page 2, I crashed 8 times.

And when I read this comment, i removed BitWarden from Safari and boom, the crashes stopped happening on this website!! I hope it stops everywhere because it's frustrating. Thank you so much.

Glad to help.

Checking BitWarden's forums, I found they're making available a prior, unsupported version of BitWarden while they figure out this problem. I've installed it and its corresponding Safari extension, and it seems to be working fine.

Despite its description, I'm using it with Safari 14.0.3.

I have never had that extension installed when I was having crashes.

Having said that I havent had a Safari crash since the past 2 betas :)

I am so over the Apple Control paradigm. On the one hand, the security is a feature . . . .

On the other hand, Bitwarden capriciously disappeared from the Extensions TAB in Safari Preferences yesterday, never to be seen again . . . . until I found this post and link.

There is no solution (if there is, I've not found it--and no, I'm not familiar with Onyx and therefore do not trust it) for the missing Bitwarden Extension in Safari. The App Store will download the desktop Bitwarden all day long without any functional provision for the Safari Extension.

THANK YOU !

Arggg . . . spoke too soon. And then it was gone without notice, no forwarding address or phone number.

Click-copy-paste-wash-rinse-repeat . . . . or go looking for a new password manager after leaving LastPass in the ditch to move to Bitwarden.

Five weeks ago, I swapped my RX5700XT for an RX6800. Have panicked since the swapđź‘Ť IMHO, there is an issue with the 5700 Mac drivers.
