Thanks for the help. I have the same issue with iCloud tabs and didn't use Profiles. I created a new profile for myself and the new profile is syncing perfectly now.I found a work around by creating a new safari profile and naming it default. I just use this profile full time and imported all my bookmarks and extensions. the iCloud tabs sync so far has worked flawlessly. Give it a try. I am on the latest 18.0.1 and Mac OS 15.0.1
Has anyone tried the 18.2 beta yet?
Something has been going on behind the scenes. My phone started showing open tabs from my ipad. However the tabs displayed were not actually open, they had been viewed and closed previously on my ipad. The phone is on 18.3.1 and this has happened twice now. This is the first time that such tabs appeared without restarting my phone or force quitting Safari. And this morning my ipad is showing actual open tabs from my phone. I was using my phone first this morning and intentionally left a few tabs open on several sites. Going to my ipad each of those tabs were displayed. The ipad is on yesterday’s beta release of 18.4. Something has been fixed, at least partially.Allright, I tried the latest Betas (18.2 Beta 4). Still not fixed. The workaround with a new profile in Safari works though. Very annoying.
Well the feature is kinda working. I tried closing the open tabs on my phone from Safari on my ipad and that had no effect. They disappeared from the iPad but remained open on the phone. Since the two devices are on different ios versions that may be why. At least they showed up in the first place, that’s a major change in itself.Same issue on my iPhone running the latest 18.4. It is showing a tab from my iPad, also running the latest 18.4, even though it hasn’t been open for awhile. And whenever I delete it, it reappears as soon as I go back into Safari on the iPad.
It does however make a change for iCloud tab syncing to be finally working somewhat again because Apple, along with most everything else, have royally screwed this up.
Yep, in addition, as you noted, the tabs cannot be closed from the other device, only made to disappear. However, on my phone, I noticed today, that even after manually closing the displayed tabs from my ipad and having them disappear, they popped right back up after a couple hours. So now I’ve closed them again. This issue may not matter to many but I found it to be a very useful feature that I used frequently before iOS 18. Now it just really isn't even a feature. It does however make a change for iCloud tab syncing to be finally working somewhat again because Apple, along with most everything else, have royally screwed this up.
