Reproducable by opening whatever website and sliding the bookmark bar in and out. This does NOT happen if there is no website open yet (and safari shows favorites or top sites on the right.

Absolutely. Yosemite has indeed made Safari into a browsing beast.

Thank goodness, I wasn't the only one noticed.

Compared to good old Firefox, it's definitely faster on Yosemite.
