I think people will use the Spock neck pinch only on photos, and only rarely then. For Safari, it's just a lot easier to double-tap.

As for zooming, others have noted that it simply zooms where you click. There's no fancy code involved. All you need is a steady hand when you make advertisements.

No, it seems to zoom into the element selected. (div or whatnot).

You can see Apple uses the same "detection" algorithm for Leopard's Web Clip widget. Jobs doesn't draw the frame around this part of the site, instead he "scrolls" through various elements (sidebar, ad, etc...)
