There‘s no new iPad Pro coming this year anymore. Even confirmed by Apple during their earnings call.
Have a source for that? Not sure it was “confirmed”. We still have the Mac Pro to be released this year and there is a lot of info coming out on the MacBook Pro 16 at the moment suggesting a release very soon.

It was suggested at best not confirmed. Plus it still says March as well which is soon. We are not talking late next year.

Since this thread is about new iPad Pros - this year - it’s 99% safe to say no new iOS pros in 2019.

The Pros don't need to be updated yearly. The '18 models are terrific machines.
Yes, 2018 machines are still excellent. However, if they want to have better interest, yearly updates is a good first step. iOS and A chips have good feature and performance growth as compared with intel and MacOS, so slower that yearly upgrades of iPad send the message that Apple is not fully committed or simply do not know where the iPad is going. iPadOS is a step in the right direction in terms of commitment.

People hold onto iPads much longer than they do iPhones, which we're already keeping longer. Releasing an iPad Pro on a yearly cycle is just not feasible. Yearly production changes, costs, and R&D eat into the profit margins they make on these devices. The steady decline in iPad sales year over year suggest there is no demand for a yearly iPad Pro release. This is basic economics 101 stuff, supply and demand.

We know where Apple is going in terms of pro products, they've revealed that roadmap long ago. The iMac Pro stop-gap, the Mac Pro, the rumors of the new Macbook Pro, and the biggest redesign the iPads have EVER seen show Apple's commitment to prosumers. They've separated iPadOS from iOS and are releasing small incremental updates to evolve the iPads into a true computer replacement.

I assume the only people who would be interested in ipad annual upgrades are those who are right now in the market to buy a new iPad and likely disappointed there’s nothing imminent. It’s a timing thing. There’s nothing gained by being mad at apple because you didn’t pull the plug on initial release and they’re not exactly going to change protocol because some don’t want to purchase the current version, mid cycle.
