Samsung aims to compete with Beats with new headphones

Samsung announced these in April... Apple announced the Beats talks in May... who copied who here?
Well to be fair, M&A deals don't get done in a month so I'm sure the Beats talks were going on for a while before then.
Seriously Samsung, this is just getting ridiculous.
Why, by competing with the similar products that all other major manufacturers are competing with?
Beats are not that great anyways, so the standard is set low to actually be better than Beats.
Get a grip mate, Samsung released those headphones around April when nobody was even thinking about Apple buying beats.
Not what I was getting at. It just seems like anything Apple 'rumors' to be doing, Samsung does everything it can to replicate or produce it first. Examples would be a 4.7" iPhone is announced and all of a sudden Samsung announces a 4.7" phone. Apple announces gold colored phones, Samsung announces gold colored phones. And so on. It just gives the appearance that anything Apple does, Samsung does. Whether it is true or not is irrelevant.

Actually, Apple was public discussions long before April. In fact, here is a blog discussion on the acquisition dated 1 April. And Samsung announced when? Coincidence?

It's sensationalised news headlines and a lack of research that makes people assume Samsung are copying Apple.
Apple had gold phones first? Really?
It's like the smartwatch rubbish, Samsung had an autonomous smartwatch years ago.
When Samsung released the 12.2 note, apparently they were doing so because of Apple rumours, no one bothered scratching the surface and finding out they has announced plans to make one a year or so before the release.
I guess it's trendy here to accuse Samsung of copying Apple. No surprise I guess.
And here we go again.
I read reviews on these cans months ago, the top end model seems to perform better than beats, if anyone cares....

Who really cares about who copies who? Nobody seems to care when talking about any other products.

Fine, you guys win. Samsung copied, copies, and will always copy. Apple was always first. Samsung just fails at everything. They have a terrible reputation and their products are trash. The company is run by morons

No need to get defensive on this. I've always said I don't care if one copies another. It is just the appearance that Samsung is reacting to Apple and not the other way around, and they seem to do it with regularity. And like I said, it doesn't matter if it is true or not; but it seems damn coincidental.
And I think people probably know by now (and via my post history) that I don't view Apple above the rest. I will criticize things I don't like about them, as much as I do about Samsung or Android or even my beloved under-dog Windows Phone.
Hell, just the other day I called the Nexus 7 by Asus the biggest piece of crap ever made. (Not literally, but along those lines).

I get what you are saying, but 27 days to come up with a product, manufacture it, and actually make a product that, as far as I've seen, is on par or better than a company that has been doing it for years, is pretty impressive, even if they were copying.

Earlier today I got so mad about the fact that Samsung is always copying Apple that I threw my hands up in the air...and subsequently knocked over my mug, spilling coffee all over my Macbook, I could use some help.
I can get some real nice Shure headphones for $120-$130 (depending on where you go), compared to what the Beats cost and they arent all that great imo. Here is a quick search of some id buy

Ehheh.. You can turn this upside down too. Samsung has a cold phone before Apple - they already had one in 2003 or so and since then several models. And this playground game is so childish. Im only waiting to see when iWatch is in a real world and people is compairing it with the first smartwatch Samsung did years ago and say how well Apple made their first watch. I wonder did Moto copy Apple because their watch face is circular rather than rectangle - wasnt there a rumour that iWatch has round face?
And as a consumer I give a damn who copys whom if it fulfills my needs and it is working perfectly. And as beeing a real person I like to use real stuff, not rumours...
If any of you think Apple bought Beats for their crappy headphones, think again. Everyone has been pretty open about it being more about the music subscription service, not the products.
Beats proves you can make a massive profit by selling low quality overpriced headphones.

Nothing surprising here at all and as others have pointed out, Samsung announced this long before there were even rumours Apple was purchasing Beats.
I doubt Samsung will succeed here, however, as the key to selling crappy products for obscene amounts of money is a strong brand. No one knows what Level headphones are and Samsung itself is not considered a luxury brand. They will need to pour millions into marketing and celebrity endorsements for this to even have a chance of succeeding.
