There are a lot of court cases and yes one of them involves visual looks.

I always thought the iPhone 4 and 4S had a similar design to the PSP

A protruding silver rim sandwiched between two glossy black front and back panels. Silver branding on the back.
I don't think I've seen any other gaming device or phone with that style, but I haven't seen many other phones.
