Don't you know by now it's only funny when its Apple doing it?

Except at least Apple was bashing the computer, not the people who liked the computer.

The Samsung commercial is encouraging all the people who do stuff like call apple fans isheep or call some one an iwhore cause she decided to get an iphone (even got death threats about it, this was on G+ though that is chock full of Google fans, some who are really obnoxious) and basically like to insult anyone who buys an iphone (for the more polite ones who are at least more tactful btu still have that underwritten insult: Oh, iphones are for people who don't like tech/don't like to think/tech is too confusing for them).

The commercial itself is pretty cringeworthy, and should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it's the Youtube comments that are baffling to me. People get so angry over which phone people choose to purchase.

Also, 'Shake to share playlist' Woah, that's almost as innovative as their 'Tilt to zoom' feature :D

Ah, already been posted. Still, worth a watch for the hilarity.

I think its pretty funny actually :D

apple would not have gone to court with samsung if they did not feel threatened. samsung is definitely a company to look out for.

Some people take their mobile OS choice way too seriously.

You do realize Google is the KING of never finishing BETA apps right? that or canceling them

No point, because the Galaxy s4 comes out in February. lol. You know ANdroid products have a three month shelf life lol. Android has had more "Flagship" phones than I can remember.

Scenario I
Android user #1: Hey dude, check out my new phone!
Android user #2: Dude thats so 2 months ago.

Scenario II
Android user #1: Hey guys, lets use (x) feature on our phones to do (x) task
Android user #2: Can't dude, i haven't got the (y) update yet
Android user #3: I can't either and my phone cant update to that new operating system.
Android user #4: Ok, cool lets do it! Wait hold on let me just get to the main screen..****** stupid back button.. just one sec, let me use this useless widget to brighten the screen. Damn it my phone just crashed.. F&*&!!

:D

I know this far too well, but we are talking maps here which in my opinion might be google's most polished piece of software, aside from search. I really don't think that Apple has the dedication to compete with google maps, but it's the kind of software that just has to be pushed out at some point or it would live forever as an internal alpha. It will either incrementally improve, or go hangout with google wave in vaporware land.

I hate ads like these. I like Samsung, not their phones really, but displays and memory. Negative ads like these tarnish my view of a company, and that is a consideration when i make a purchase. I'm very glad that apple has finally gained the self confidence to move away from advertising as negative as the Mac vs PC ads were, I hated those too.

Hater's gonna hate. iOS, android, Windows, Linux all camps have their haters, then their are the rest of us who just buy what we like and get stuff done.

It's great advertising. Find your competitors weakness and point them out. The whole making fun of the users thing is ok by me. That's how a lot of people view iPhone users.

With that said I can't wait for my new iPhone........

I think its an awesome hilarious ad. Funnier than the galaxy s2-apple bashing commercial last year. All the punchlines were on point. made me laugh. but come friday, i will have a shiny new iphone 5 at my door step. :D ima fan of smartphones, not platforms or brands.

I have had it with the apple and android fan boys samsung seems to always use them in their ads but who stands to benefit for those that say my phone is better than yours nobody but the company .

At least the Apple ads don't do that with their latest iOS devices however they did do with they mac vs pcs commercials, which at least at a sense of humour. the more samsung does this the more i hate the company on a final note if there product is the best they should not be comparing it like apples and oranges.

Show me what it can do, and do not waste my time by taunting me that I have a iphone.

I thought it was pretty damn funny, I guess because I know that the iPhone is still the best device. ;)

This commercial is hilarious, especially the part where the guy's mind is blown over the headphone jack.

I do find the whole "touch my phone with your phone" feature pretty gimmicky, however.

Yeah that was really the best part of the ad. "Mind blown". Honestly ever since switching from a 1st gen iPod touch, I was upset that iPhone's headset jack was on the top instead of the bottom. I was put my iPhone in top down so the ringer is louder. But can't do that if listening to music. The switch, while not mind blowing, is pretty much a majorly usability upgrade.

Also the sharing pics thing in that video looked slightly awkward. I mean, two guys gently pressing the backs of their phones together to share a pic. Am I the only one that thought, "hey these must be gay guys"?

Also. Isn't it easier just to text the pics?

Samsungs ads are working. As hard as that may be to face, it's nothing out of the ordinary. People are voting with their wallets & Samsung is doing quite well.

I like it, Apple benefits from competition. Those familiar with business know this. :)

And you know these people are coming from Apple and not HTC, Motorola, Nokia, etc?

With the Mac vs Windows ads series, Apple had the decency to make the Windows guy rather likeable (even as a closet apple fan at the time, I found the Mac guy aloof). Whether that was intentional or not, the whole ads was a softer jab but effective nonetheless.

But with Samsung there's no grasp on satire or anything that might suggest wit. The prodding is clear-cut using known cliches followed by self-flattery. All good approach if a bit desperate. Perhaps more effective if tightly edited. In current state overwrought and stale.

It's actually a bit early to be saying, " This is working. " - The iPhone 5 hasn't even been released yet. But nt. nt.

Nah they're kind of lame at this point. Even some of the tech blogs are saying so. I wish HTC would put out a killer Android phone to give Samsung some competition. If people think Apple has a big head, Samsung's is twice the size right now. :p

apple would not have gone to court with samsung if they did not feel threatened. samsung is definitely a company to look out for.

No, Apple went to court because they could make ONE BILLION dollars. You would be STUPID if you had a case and didn't go to court for ONE BILLION dollars. It's not feeling threatened, it's cashing in.

Apple sold 2 million iPhone 5's within 24 hours. Yep, Apple quaking in the metaphorical boots.

I don't even own an iPhone and I found the commercial to be out of taste. I have some type of Android device, I don't know the mfg, but it's an Android. The commercial was pretty lame, just like the Mac vs PC ones years ago. I didn't like Samsung very much since hearing about all the copyright infringements and I definitely don't like them very much now that they're running negative "campaign" ads.

Why are S3 users hanging out outside of the Apple Retail Store anyway? Is loitering outside of an Apple store the highlight of their day..?

----------

They actually do that in this ad. They also do many ads for the S3 that are focused on features without the iPhone comparisons.

No, this was an attack ad. I agree with previous posters in that they insult iPhone users specifically. All I can picture now is some pissed off asian guy in South Korea scheming in a dark lab trying to think of ways to get revenge on Apple.

I remember watching those and other Apple commercials way before I had any Apple products and I thought they were great! And now that I have a Macbook, iPad and 2 (now 3 with the 5) iPhones, it all makes sense. Even the S3 commercial is funny. Samsung gets a 'E' for effort :p
