Wait, is the Plus or Pro better? Pro, right?

Also, can anyone speak to speaker quality/loudness between a rMBP 13" versus the Samsung Chromebook?

I'm at a bit of crossroads -- I have a rMBP 13" whose battery is absolutely shot dead. I believe it's $250 to replace it if I bring it to the Apple store. Otherwise, I love my MacBook. But I'm also wondering if it's worth just throwing in another 200-300 bucks and getting a Chromebook, either Samsung or the recent ASUS one.

Thoughts from people who have experiences with both rMBP 13" and Samsung or ASUS Chromebooks?

Can you not just buy a battery and do it yourself much cheaper?

Cant speak for other chromebooks. I have Samsung Chromebook Plus and back in a day I have owned rMBP 13". There is no comparison, rMBP 13" is way better in sound department. Sound is only negative that I find about Samsung Chromebook Plus. It is serviceable/usable, but it is nothing to write home about. And yes, Pro version is better, since it has m3 processor and Plus has Arm, but for my use case Plus is more than enough, at least for now.

Speakers are a big reason why I love my MacBook. I find the MBP speakers serviceable for traveling, so if the Samsung Chromebook's speakers are worse, I don't think that would be acceptable to me.

Thanks for this!
