Good luck Samsung. Even with genesis I still consider Hyundai to have poor brand value.
Your opinion does not reflect reality...

Not only has Genesis made it, the brand has thrived to become a dark horse in the U.S. luxury market with unique styling, unexpected comfort and well-ranked quality. It’s done so with both gas-powered and electric vehicles.

They have also won many awards over the years such as MotorTrend Car of the Year; MotorTrend SUV of the Year; Car and Driver 10Best; and North American Car of the Year

Before the "copying Apple" stuff rolls in, please visit a store and try out something like the S24+
I was playing with an S24/S24+ at the store recently..

Holy smokes these guys are making some really compelling hardware these days

If they'd make something iPhone Mini sized (or smaller, even better), I'd be on it in a heartbeat

It's come a long way from the S3, S4 etc which were horrific phones back in the day (as were their bendy plastic tablets)

So has Android to be fair as that was horrific back then too. It's taken a long time but in the past 5-6 years I think they can both finally say they have a premium product to offer. One that actually feels and operates like one.

I prefer Google's Pixel range a bit more, I think it's cleaner overall and has a better looking design and a better version of Android.

I don't think Samsung is capable of making a small device as powerful though. I think half the reason their devices were so big at the start was because they couldn't compete with all the tech Apple managed to fit in an iPhone the size of the iPhone 4. However people prefered the larger screensizes and now we've ended up where we are, where the biggest iPhone Pro sells more.

Doesnt matter how good the hardware is- nobody on iOS wants to downgrade to android.

The 3rd party apps are worse, no security, no updates, no texting, tons of carrier and OEM bloat, the list goes on. It’s trash.

If they really wanted to take a bite out of iPhone marketshare they’d ditch android and design an OS from scratch that matches the hardware. Like what apple did in 2007
OMG please get your hands on an Android phone, but first come out of the cave you've been living for the past 10 years.

Android hardware is top notch, specially Samsung, yes they don't innovate anymore and now act like Apple, but still their hardware and parts of their OS are amazing.

By the way, Apple is now delivering OEM bloat, ever heard of "Journal", "Freeform", or the old "Stocks", etc?

Except they keep bringing features from Android over to IOS and people love them. I use both an 16PM and a Galaxy S24 Ultra. They are really not that different anymore.

It means I’m voting with my $$$ but I stand by my comment.

I always associated the name “Galaxy” with ”a phone made by Samsung”, whether that is good or bad depends on the phone in question.. It’s not a bad move really, but I just hope they copy Apple a bit less(like when they removed the headphone jack).

it would be sad to see galaxy disappear or be associated with a lower tier.

i've had some galaxy phones and they are great...hardware wise. samsung hardware has been top tier for a long time. i can't comment on the software side of things.

galaxy should be reserved for premium devices but perhaps the damage is done and they need something new for high end models.

Samsung has made compelling (to me) hardware for a very long time, it has just been their software that I don't enjoy. While there is a lot one can add and change to make TouchWiz/OneUI look and act different, I was never able to get things to a place I was content with. So, iOS/Apple it is for me.

Will we ever be finally beyond the denigrating Samsung and/or Android users?

Some of this commentary reads like middle school level maturity stuff

Preferring iOS is one thing -- and understandable -- but nobody should be denigrating their hardware
It's top notch stuff
Samsung’s own marketing department displays approximately that level of maturity, so what’s good for the goose…

Good for them, I guess.
Migrated to iPhone in 2016 when I realized what a mess Samsung’s software was.

Also not related but this left me a bitter taste with ‘Samsung’:
- Samsung kitchen ventilator - fan broken after 2 years.
- Samsung washing machine - the plastic thing inside the drum broke. No reserver parts. Whole machine useless.
- Samsung Dryer - doesn’t dry
- Samsung 990 pro - Critical firmware issue

I pray to god the Samsung double fridge does not die. I do have a mild PTSD from the time when trying to move it into place.

I made the wise decision to move away from all Samsung appliances before I experienced any major issues.

1. I had a Samsung oven that had a motherboard that would start dying and the screen would flash random characters until it was fixed. I had to replace it once, which cost me almost $200. I eventually got rid of it and replaced it with a GE oven.

2. I also had a Samsung refrigerator that started leaking a strange, untraceable liquid after about 7 or 8 years. I had to replace it with an LG refrigerator. The hauling company had a hard time carrying the fridge out because it was heavier than usual. I assume gallons of water were stuck inside.

3. On the positive side, my washer and dryer actually lasted over 15 years with only one repair during that time. I decided to replace them with an LG model to catch up on the latest features and improve their washing and drying capabilities, especially the steam option.

On to phones. I used to have a Galaxy 3, but the operating system was confusing because it had multiple mail, browser, and other apps. The interface wasn’t polished, and the operating system wasn’t very stable. So, I switched to an iPhone and haven’t looked back.

They can call it Milky Way for all I care

Plenty of other chocolate bar names they could use:
Twix
Curly Whirly
Bounty
Mars
KitKat
:p
Tell me you're from the UK without telling me you're from the UK 😃 (It's Curly Wurly that gave you away. And they used to be like ladders but now more like a stepping stool).

Anyway, I digress. S24 Ultra user here. I never refer to it as a Galaxy/Galaxy S24 Ultra. Always just S24 or S24 Ultra.

I've an S22 Ultra - 3 years on it's still a top notch phone. My wife has a S24fe, which is a midrange phone and is also excellent. The top end of Samsung is very, very good, so it makes sense to separate it out from the low end phones.

I have a Mac and iPad, but I prefer the Samsung phone, and an iPhone is not on my radar. If only Apple would play nice with other manufacturers - Samsung too for that matter. Both have great Notes apps that REFUSE to talk to each other, so I'm left using OneNote as a cross platform solution, so I miss the perks of both manufacturers home grown solutions.
