How are you enjoying your iPhone?

Well, it's refreshing.

From the new home button to that front facing speaker.. is definitely nice to have. Camera is awesome and I'm digging the Taptic feedback, but I'm more intrigued by iOS 10 compared to the 7 Plus.

Reason being... iMessage on iOS 10 is fun to use, 3D Touch has been implemented well with iOS 10. Music app has grown on me. And I like the widgets, although I do wish devs can do more with it... like actually interact with it instead of calculator apps.

So, it's been a refreshing experience. But it's a very unfortunate situation for Samsung cause I did enjoy my Note7... hopefully they regain some public trust... because right now, it doesn't look good at all.

I had a feeling this would happen. That's why the Note 7 is not on my list for my next phone.

I just don't trust it's safe, not even the new ones. I wouldn't risk it.

There were no Note 7s to try out in Best Buy today, which kind of sucks because it would have been cool to get a feel for it. But if this report is true and if there are more reports like this, then I don't think Samsung will ship out new Note 7s anymore.

They better hope so it's not just RIP for the Note but will be the only think the media will be talking about come time for the S8.

This is purely my own personal hypothesis but I wonder if trying to cram so much into that small form factor contributed to Samsung's difficulties? It's only a great design if the phone actually works. Again, before I get flamed for having no proof, this is just a thought that popped into my head...not claiming fact.

At some point soon I imagine the Note 7 will internally be regarded as no longer economically viable and will be quietly pulled from the market with only very limited inventory or refurbs sold at rock bottom prices.

I will be honest on this one.Samsung needs to just recall all Note 7 and stop selling this thing.With so many cases floating about its hard to tell which are fake and which are real.Besides no prospective average IPhone 7 Plus buyer is gonna get this

The nice thing about Apple is that there has never been a recall because of an exploding or iPhone going up in smoke. There has been known cases where iPhones have done this in the past but usually isolated cases. I remember some were because people used those knock off chargers. Of course Apple also recalled chargers one year.

Strange that there's nothing new in the Note 7 with regards to battery and charging technology that would explain a sudden increase of battery failures in the news.

LiPo battery has been around forever.
3500 mAh capacity isn't much different than, say, the Note 4 3220 mAh.
Wired and fast wired charging aren't new.
Wireless and fast wireless charging aren't new.

I normally stick with Japanese or South Korean made battery cells that have been issue free and even Chinese cells haven't been a problem either. That can only narrow it down to either something drastic in battery manufacturing or sabotage. Perhaps PR sabotage from the competition and/or a country that hasn't been successful in cracking the smartphone industry. Same country that lost manufacturing rights to Vietnam.

That's not true. Apple replaced my phone because of Touch Disease and that's before I even knew what Touch Disease was. The funny thing is a month later the new iPhones came out and I bought one and sold the previous model that Apple had just given me the month before.

I just traded in my iPhone 7+ for the re-released Note 7! Agggh!

The Note 7 did make my mouth water.But getting an Android Wear along with the Note 7 whilst selling my Watch exceeded my budget hence I stuck with the 7 Plus .Just ordered mine an hour ago on
Amazon Hopefully I won't have to play the lottery with yellow tint screens and hissgate

You're the lucky exception because there's now a class action lawsuit in several countries where people were blown off or haven't been reimbursed for paying out of pocket for the defect.

Comparing a non-life threatening annoying issue with a potential fire on an airplane is certainly an equivalent situation.

I agree. When Apple first made the Iphone it had a huge bending problem that affected many people, they had to make the phone thicker and added some weight to it so it wouldn't bend easily anymore. It could be possible that it's a similar problem with the note 7. (except instead of bending, it catches fire) They made the design so much smaller that the phone could be putting a lot of pressure on the battery and thats what could be causing it to catch fire.

According to this specific case, the phone caught fire as soon as it hit the ground after being dropped. So think about it, the pressure from that could have ignited the fire.

I wouldn't be surprised if some business owner who was going bankrupt decided to set their business on fire and then blame it on the note 7 for causing the fire.

There's definitely potential for people to scam, but I believe most of the claims so far are true. In this case, no one would purposefully set their phone on fire in an airplane. They'd risk jail time..and there would be plenty of witnesses..and they'd have nothing to gain. This is definitely Samsung's fault.

Lots of people have been sucked in by the media with this story, because they've replaced a million Note 7s? And this is one of possibly 2 or 3 that have had problems according to the media.

I would think about that for a second...

Reading the comments across the internet is funny when you remember that. Not saying their may not be an issue still, but I think much more evidence is needed about this before calling for the Note 7 to be removed from sale.
