I have a feeling that Samsung will ditch the removal back soon, I will dare to say with S6  its the last step imo to give the phone that nice solid feel.

You don't find it gets in your way when holding the phone with one hand? Come to think of it maybe I've learned to prefer it because I usually put my phone in the breast pocket.

If anything, having the cord on top gets in the way when holding the device.....the cord flops everywhere.

I too prefer the headphone jack being on the bottom. Pocket-ability is the main reason for me.

Better camera that is useful in low light even if it's 8mp
Complete overhaul of touchwiz, remove all the 'features' and focus on useful things and making them work properly.
4.7-4.9'' screen NOT higher res than 1080p, 720p is fine
Fingerprint scanner than doesn't require a swipe down
Specs will be good so I don't care about the processor specs, etc.

Basically and iphone 6 :D

You could be right.......maybe even lose the home button.......

Removable battery going? Possible. Really, very few people ever change the batter to begin with.

Capsule shaped home button? Probably going to stick around given the effort of adding a fingerprint scanner which I certainly like.

I think i read somewhere that part of the finger reader of the S5 is the lower part of the Screen and the rest on the home button, a lot of people won't like of they ditch it but that will be very awesome if they can implement the reader on the screen itself soon :) eliminate the whole bottom bezel.

----------

And while we're at, even get rid of touchwiz.

I think MRU said on he's alpha review that TouchWiz shipped with minimal software installed, maybe they will continue that trend and ship devices without Samsung software so people decide if they want to install; "vanilla" TouchWiz :p

Samsung might ditch the removable back but not next year maybe in 2016 for the S7 and Note 6, and whatever else they bring out.

What might also go is the SD card slot, if you look at the Alpha it comes with 32GB but no sd card slot which Samsung if they wanted could have easily implemented into the Alpha.

Next year we could see the S6 with both a nano sim and built in storage only with 3 options 32GB, 64GB & 128GB all easily available in which ever country you live in, I personally would welcome this tbh if it was to happen.

I've got high hopes for Samsung next year with the S6, hopefully it be built upon the same design as the Alpha and Note 4 but with a 5.2" QHD screen with a 64bit Snapdragon 808 or 810 CPU & finally 3 to 4GB of ram & slim bezel's without having to sacrifice weather sealing, also get rid of the flap at the bottom.

I tried Googling Galaxy S5 and what do you know there are several new reports today about rumored specs.

http://www.androidheadlines.com/2014/10/samsungs-purported-galaxy-s6-specs-include-64-bit-cpu-4k-screen-4-gb-ram.html

I'd be surprised if it had a 4K display since the US didn't get a major carrier qHD S5 like South Korea. However, it seems like a big step above the iPhone 6 that's for sure. Excited if the Note 5 gets 4K as well.

My vision for the S6 would be .....

Front facing speaker on top (like the HTC One), and one underneath besides the charging port (like the iPhone).

Fingerprint sensor that you don't need to swipe, like Touch ID.

I would love if the design has curves similar to the Nexus 6.

5.3 Quad HD screen.

Optical Image Stabilization.

Fast Charging.

a better place
Samsung Galaxy S6

I'll call it now. QHD display tops. 3gb ram tops.

Oh and contrary to that article, Samsung if they are to learn anything it's that just having bigger specs on paper doesn't necessarily shift devices. 4k screen to out do iPhone 6, when clearly the S5 already has a higher screen resolution and it hasn't stopped the S5 being a bit of a disappointment sales wise long term for them....

Instead of throw everything including the kitchen sink into their phone approach - truly focus on making their software the important leap next year. Optimise it, it's ridiculous to think a Samsung phone would need 4gb ...

Oh and they need to make less flagship devices.

Stick to a S6, Alpha 2015 and Note 5
In 2015. Don't bastardise their models with so many lower range phones with middling performance but named after their flagship handsets. Stop the constant SKU variables, just focus focus focus...

Tje S3 had pretty small bezels for its time, so did S4, only with S5 did Samsung have to increase bezels due to manufacturing constraints.

My predictions - Snapdragon 810, 3GB RAM, QHD 5.5" SAMOLED screen, updated TouchWiz, hear rate monitor, fingerprint sensor, IP67 certification.

All this is pretty much a given. Next years Note will be 6" minimum, hence the S has to be 5.5" or more. I think there's a small chance we might see the new 64 bit Exynos if Samsung can get US LTE certification, that's the only reason they need to use Qualcomm now.

SD card and removable battery are also a given, and thank you Samsung for still not providing these valuable features.

If you're jumping ahead, why not just post your hopes for the s9 or the s11? Talk about rushing ahead and wishing your life away. LOL. The S5 is barely out!

I am wondering with Samsung's profit losses whether they are going to tighten up their smartphone lines a bit like what Sony is doing. Focus on less devices but hopefully do them well.

I LOVE the screen on my 8" Tab S and my Note 4.

I think Samsung has too many products out there. I think they should have maybe 2 tablet types (s pen and one without), Note line, Galaxy line and maybe an entry level phone.

Their product line is out of hand.

I think that is one of the things that Jobs did when he started trying to turn the company around was get rid of all of the projects that they had and narrow down the product lines and provide good QC on them.

Unless it is bezel-less, I don't see 5.5" happening alongside a 5.7" Note 4. 5.3" or less maybe. Updated Touchwiz (one step newer than Android L version) would be nice.

I think 2 things Samsung need to concentrate on next year is Touchwiz and the camera in low light.

If the iPhone 6 can take very decent low light shot, and this is because the software they use in the camera is superb, Samsung need to improve their camera software adding just OIS isn't enough i feel.

I'm hoping once Android Lollipop is released & on the S5/S6 ect, they don't kill the RAW feature that being introduced, as this itself could vastly improve low light shots with abit of photo software know how.

Samsung never going to ditch Touchwiz, no matter how many people moan about it inc Google, so our only hope is they continue to trim the fat from it and give us something much leaner in future, again HTC do a brilliant job why can't Samsung.
