Why do you need an upgrade?

I am on year 3 on my 6+. iOS11 has been laggy for my 6+. I love technology but only upgrade when truly feel its worth it. The s8+ really impressed me, but I waited for the new iPhone just incase. Now I am torn with the price and OS.

So, I will check when the X is in stores on display and compare to see what best fits me.

The decision NOT to go to IPhone X was easy for me. £1000 is simply too much to spend on a phone. I can barely justify the S8+ price and waiting for it to fall further before going for it :)

I asked this question in another thread, but since it wasn't actually dedicated to the S8, I'm not sure if I'm likely to get a response. Anyhow, I'm still deciding between upgrading my S7 to the S8 or the Pixel 2. One thing I find bothersome on the S8 is the increased glare along the curved edges. My question is if anybody has found that putting a case on it decreases that glare (I'd be putting a case on regardless)? Thanks in advance.

Wait for S9 at this point. ~5 months? And yes to a case, essential protection along with easier to grip and hold...

I don't mind being a bit behind, especially with the deals there are for the S8 at this point. Plus with my new every year plan with AT&T it makes the most financial sense to upgrade now or wait another year, which I don't plan on doing.

Anyhow are you saying that in addition to the protection and grip, it does also help reduce the glare?

There is glare, yes but a lot less then the S7 edge. I hate curved screens and would have preferred a flat screen, but the edges on the s8 are just OK for me.
Appreciate the feedback! I do kind of wonder if i'll get better as I get used to, but it's definitely been noticeable whenever I've picked one up in the store.

I think you will get used to it. Just try out for a week and if you don' get used to it bring it back.

So when is Nova supposed to get the lower search bar like in the pixel 2 launcher? Quite liking it so reachable.

Also, anybody doing the Oreo beta?

Yeah, I remember reading they were the first. Anytime now, Nova.
It's there on mine.

Why not just add the widget where you want? Been able to do that for years.

There's never been a way, at least that I'm aware of, to place search below icons in dock.

That's interesting. Are you signed up for receiving betas? That's not an option for me.

Still, though, the search in your screenshot is showing above the icons, not below.

Actually, your right I have the beta, totally forgot. It does give the option to place below.

Is there any way to darken the quick toggles pull down menu? Without having to change the entire theme of your phone?

I'm really liking the Pixel 2's darker quick toggles pull down menu.
