I'm hoping BT 5.0 for longer range.

Of course it will include Bixby, and finally crappy S-voice will be gone.

Larger battery or as thin as my S2 classic would be great. (I'll take either)

For the first time, I'm really interested in a smartwatch announcement.

The design and features have reached a point that I could see myself using a smartwatch. I'm looking forward to this one.

Generally curious to see what this has to offer. The S3 was a nice piece of hardware, especially the Frontier design. Which leads me to believe the Apple Watch Series 3 is also imminent.

Sounds Good

I'm pretty happy with my Gear S3. Other than making it lighter in weight, and maybe a little thinner, I'm not sure what I would change about it.

I'm happy with my S3, aside from the screen on the Apple Watch Series 2 actually being easier to read outside.

So it's interesting:

Gear S3 remains the flagship.
Gear Sport fills that middle ground.
Gear S2 better for smaller wrists.
Gear Fit Pro range for fitness.

I'm delighted with my Gear S3 and understand why there was no real need to release an S4 right now.

I am disappointed the S2 hasn't had updated internals, or you release a smaller Gear S3. My wife looks at this range and she's essentially left out of Samsung and Android Wear. (She just got an S2 Classic and tbh the performance on it is extremely variable).

So they didn't announce a S4 right? I was curious what they would come up with. I'm more of a fan of the S2 because of the size, not that I have small wrists, I just think the S3 was a little too big.

Yes my family is considering switching over to galaxy phones but are wondering about the Samsung watches as we've enjoyed our Apple watches and the S3 is too clunky for my small wrist. I do like the idea of LTE capability and was hoping they would announce a sleeker LTE-capable Samsung watch this year: it would make the switch to Note 8 decision an easier one for me. I have searched online but don't see any info re: expected s4 release timeframe.

Think I'll go with the gear sport. The gear 3 is too big and I think the gear 2 is too old now. It has Samsung pay which is great as I've become so accustomed to using my Apple Watch to pay for things. Taking out my phone to pay seems so cumbersome now.

I waited for the 4, didn't happen so I ended up getting the S3 frontier.
I don't mind larger watches.

I think my husband will love the S3 Frontier. I just wish they would make a slimmed-down, full feature Watch for those of us with smaller wrists.

The Gear Sport does not have LTE, correct?

This is what I've recommended to my wife.

She just got an S2 Classic and is going to return it, and wait it out for the Gear Sport. It's not 100% ideal but it's the best option, it seems.

I love my S3 Classic, it's perfect for me. I think she simply wanted a smaller version of that, it's a shame there's no stainless steel/silver option!

The Sport is almost perfect for me, too, to be honest. MST is the only thing missing.

I know the S2 was available in rose gold.

Yeah but it doesn't quite suit her tastes (or even, arguably skin tone). Plus the S2 is 2 years old now, and it lacks things like a built-in speaker (so can't even answer calls - one of the best features on my S3). All that for £200 when the brand new Gear Sport should probably be around £250 or so...

Better to wait.

Was really hoping for an S4 announcement. As others have said, I just with the S3 was a little slimmer.

I agree. Which is what I'm doing. I never thought about rose gold suiting a particular skin tone. I just see a colour that I like lol

Hoping for a rectangular shape but I'm not holding my breath of course. Same shape as the gear fit but with full functionality would be awesome :p

Bizarre update...

Went into Samsung shop in London (Oxford St) and the gentleman working there swore Samsung were going to announce a Gear S4 around December. I tripled checked - he said, yes for sure.

Also checked out Gear Sport (it seemed OK) and the new Gear Fit (wow!! loved it, screen is insane).

That would be welcomed news. I really like the look of the s3 and almost got one, but it has been out for a while so was going to wait. Did not like the gear sport.
