Samsung today launched orders for its new lineup of 2024 monitors, headlined by the updated Smart Monitor M80D. When ordering select monitors, you can get up to $300 in Samsung credit to use on a later purchase with the retailer.

Most monitors ordered today will arrive around June 11 for residences in the United States, and Samsung does also offer options to pick up the monitors in local Best Buy stores. You'll find every new Samsung monitor available for order in the lists below, along with the amount of Samsung credit you'll get when you place the order.

In regards to the newly updated Smart Monitor M80D, this model includes a Multi Control feature that allows images and text to be moved between the display and a Galaxy Book, Tablet, or Phone.

If you own a pair of Galaxy Buds, you can pair the earphones to the monitor for a spatial audio experience with head tracking. Additionally, Samsung added the ability to pair a Galaxy Watch to the monitor, allowing you to perform guided workouts while using the display.

Other than these features, the iMac-style 4K monitor hasn't changed in the hardware department from last year's M8 model, which features 400 nits of brightness, a 60Hz refresh rate (non variable), 99% sRGB, and adaptive picture technology.

The display also retains key features like USB-C charging connectivity, AirPlay 2 support, an integrated webcam, and several smart TV features that enable it to be used when not connected to a PC.

At least Samsung delivers and Apple lags any progress in developing new studio displays.

Come on Apple… how old is the studio display??? Still charging same amount for this ancient tech?

Is this a joke? What else do you want your display to do?
Shoot lasers?
It must be a joke. It highlights the longevity of Apple displays. The 27inch Cinema Display still looks good. Buy a display from Apple and keep it until you don’t want it anymore… but you won’t be forced out.

If they do a 5k 27" display that doesn't suck, for a reasonable price, they will have my attention.

At the moment they don't do a 5k display that doesn't suck, for a reasonable price, therefore they do not have my attention.

i need that g8 oled to drop down below 1k, got a 49inch oled and although its a amazing screen, the text fringing on mac is horrific.

The same as it does right now for a more affordable price. The tech inside it is years and years old now. Meaning: Apple is able to get the inner parts for less than half when it was introduced. Would you pay the same for an iPhone or MacBook when it’s that old?

Apple Studio Display is only a couple of years old, and includes fully redesigned chassis, camera, speakers. 5K IPS panels are still expensive - they are not "less than half when it was introduced".

LG 5K UlraFine displays sell for about the same price of $1.5K on Amazon right now.

What Apple charges for Studio Display is perfectly reasonable. If you can't afford it - go look for used models on eBay.

I think Apple could definitely improve its consumer display. Don’t feel it would be unrealistic to expect 5K/6K, 32”, 120Hz with ability to easily switch better at least two sources (KVM). Don’t care for camera or speakers but imagine they would be included

Wasn’t Samsung the same company who built in a TV on one of their refrigerators?

Like it’s a cool demo and all, but eventually you’ll realize you’re standing in front of your fridge watching TV and it’s stupid.

It’s not about affordability it’s about greediness and lack of updates. No wonder why it’s not a fast seller. Most people understand this. But there are always Timmy followers who kiss and cheer every time he ups the prices. But hey… you get an Apple logo on it. The display isn’t even invented by Apple itself.

I have an Alienware which I think uses the same panel. There's still text fringing on Mac there but it's very very workable.

The studio display has better specs than most, if not all of these, but I completely agree with you in the pricing area. I don't think anyone who knows better would consider the studio display at that price point. I think it should sell for $999. Then again, I'm not a greedy corporation lol.

I have owned both the M7 and the original M8 30" versions. I will not be touching another Samsung monitor until they address the HORRIBLE camera/microphone setup on the M8. The camera has poor quality image and the microphone makes you sound like you are underwater and people can barely hear you. Seems strange that Samsung can't see to fix these issues and continues to use the same camera module on other displays.

Apple just needs to get that 4.5K 24” display in the iMacs in a standalone monitor option… that’s plenty for most people.

I just don’t understand how we can get such significant focus on the MacBook Air line but can’t even get an affordable external monitor option with suitable PPI to sit alongside it. Even if 25% of MBA users would buy it, how is that not worth the investment especially since you might have iPad users consider buying it as well since that “docked” experience has improved. You get someone with their MBA, iPad Air, and this monitor that doesn’t yet exist — that’s a strong trio

Or allow the iMacs to work as external monitors for other devices — like they used to be able to do. iMac and a docking iPad experience right out the gate. Surely this stuff exists as prototypes.

Loving Apple right now but Apple is out of their mind if they think the average person can justify $1200-1500 for an external monitor. Get it to $749 and I feel a lot more people would consider it.

The only thing missing from Apple's display is the ability to plug in a second source, including a PC (and being able to change settings like brightness when on PC). Other than that, nobody else seems to offer a quality 5K DCI-P3 display. I don't want to be forced to buy one monitor for my Mac, and a second worse monitor for my work PC. Fix the one source/lack of PC compatibility, and I'd buy one instantly. I've been waiting YEARS for a good option.
