It's glossy, but whatever antireflective coating it has is not as good as that on the glossy mac screens:

I got my lg 5k monitor today with 218 ppi (27MD5KL) and the ppi is really good but the screen is like heavily glossy!! It is acting like a mirror. Whenever I open any IDE I can clearly see myself while typing code which makes me lose attention. In dark and white backgrounds I can particularly...

It might be overinflated on reddit, but I have been reading a lot of horror stories about reliability and customer support for these S9 monitors.

I just tried to buy a S9 but it has now been discontinued in the UK, which is crazy given it was released less than a year ago. Interestingly the LG Ultrafine 5K has also been discontinued in the UK. Not sure about availability elsewhere. frustrating and odd that the two main competitors to the Apple Studio both withdrawn at the same time in the UK. Reliability issues?
