The note tablet is head and shoulders above what the ipad is for my personal needs. I'm not into big time apps and games for my tablet that's not what I use it for. The video and overall screen is certainly better and we'll worth the money. Having a 12.2 tablet is perfect for my at home use. I can't wait to have an amazing screen for my tablet. SD card features is a must on a tablet for me

I would really like to hear your review (when you get one, of course). At present, it seems a bit unwieldy, but real world use could be a big surprise? It would be nice to have a screen that size to use with the s pen. Also, the split window could be awesome. If some case makers get creative, it could be a pretty versatile mobile. Unfortunately, the price is gonna be out of my budget.

Yeah will try my best to. Yeah the whole 4 windows could be very nice on such a huge device. Be interesting how much it does cost and yeah I think it could be out of Alot of people's price range. One of those devices which won't leave the house due to the size.

i dont see the point of a 12 inch android tablet. it makes more sense to go for full windows tablets like the the upcoming dell venue pro 11 with fhd screen.

Samsung officially announced US pricing for the new Pro tablet lines and made them available for preorder, with expected shipping on Feb 13.

While certainly cheaper than the UK pricing, at least for the 32GB Note Pro 12.2 (£649 or nearly $1100 USD, ouch), I think they're still on the pricey side, considering a 64GB Surface Pro 2 is only $50 more than the 64GB Note Pro 12.2.

Pricing for the tablets are as follows:
Note Pro 12.2: $749.99 (32 GB), $849.99 (64 GB) Tab Pro 12.1: $649.99 (32 GB)
Tab Pro 10.1: $499.99 (16 GB)
Tab Pro 8.4: $399.99 (16 GB)

Where is a Surface Pro 2 64 gb only $800? At the Microsoft store it's $899.

Note Pro is 849.99 for the 64 GB, and the Surface is 899 like you said for 64.

For $50 extra the surface pro is much better than the note. I wouldn't even think about a comparison. The surface would be insta buy if I was given a choice between the two.

Apples and oranges. The note pro has a 12.2" screen. For meetings, classes, and drawings the note pro could be awesome. Also, the multi Window (4 possibly) on that screen looks nice. Way different customization possibilities. Many of us already have a windows machine, too.

i want the tab pro 12.1 for the big screen...was hoping it would be less than that...it only they would offer a 16gb version at $100 cheaper...with SD card i don't really care about built-in storage...

Yeah but 2 inches isn't enough to beat a desktop class full PC tablet that is only $50 more. People use iPads for meetings and drawings, a surface pro would be even better. Again, no way am I buying a $800 android tablet.

Fine, you are not buying one. Who cares? Compared to other high-end tablets, the price is not that unreasonable. Also, I never said that I was buying one. In 6 months or so, it will be a lot less, and then, I might?

Having the functionality of windows is not everybody's goal. With the s pen and android's customizations, this could easily be many peoples' desired device.

Lastly, as I stated, I already have a windows machine (Thinkpad x220 awesome laptop - especially for MS Office work). So, this is way different and could be useful and fun.

Maybe it is not unreasonable to you. But just because I have a PC at home does not mean I pay $800 for a mobile OS to be different. Especially when a second PC tablet can do all the work and fun stuff and more.

Not to mention surface pro 2 also comes with wacom support so s-pen isn't an advantage here.

Throw in tons of legacy software support, a full USB port and a note is just an expensive toy.

I've seen $30,000 watches, $250,000 desks, $2 million cars and $20 million super yachts with their own helicopter and landing pad. You act like Samsung is the first to come out with an "expensive toy" - expensive being extremely subjective by the way..

Don't think that your needs/wants/financial situation is the only one out there. If Samsung didn't think there was a market for it - as with almost anything sold, literally, ever - they wouldn't be selling it.

How is it reasonable to get an ARM based tablet for 850$? What other high end tablets, other than those with higher powered x86 chips (likely an i processor) cost that much with 64gb of space?

I find it hilarious that google is the champ of value conscious buying but yet if samsung makes something that tries to compete in the league of a portable PC and is only half as effective, the fanboys come in full force.

You and apple fanatics are equally immune to rational thinking.
