No place for cash is a no go. I still like to pay with cash, especially at local small businesses. That 2% or whatever the credit cards are charging can be a big difference to these small businesses.
Cash being better for small businesses vs having to pay merchant fees is debatable.
Paying the fees and not having to manage a float, go to the bank to deposit cash, risk of forgery/getting robbed seems like a small cost of doing business/time saver.

I wish Apple would open up their Find My Network to other wallets. I use Apple's iPhone Wallet for this feature alone, as I frequently misplace where I last used it.

How does the find my work in a wallet? Does it have an AirPod or something?

Very valid points.

I have the Peak Design one. Works great on my 13 mini. Holds plenty of cards without problem … I’ve got a driver’s license, insurance, another ID, two credit cards, and a Chipolo tracker (and sometimes a folded-up bill or two) with room to spare.

And it’s not at all bulky. I’ve seen people with Ridge-style wallets that were heftier. Probably a bit thicker than this one, but not much … and well, well worth it for everything I carry. (Which, honestly, is next to nothing by my own historical standards.)

No, there's no ultra wide band chip in the wallet. All it has is MagSafe identifier that iOS uses to remember when and where the wallet was attached and detached.

Find My app will then use this information to tag where the wallet was last detached/attached.

This is actually pretty clever and innovative amongst a sea of similar, but not nearly as useful products. Satechi really puts out some great stuff! Might need to get, thanks for the tip!

I posted some similar ones a few posts above. Why do you think this one is better than the others? I’m interested but not sure which one to get

Agreed re. Satechi's products, have sev. different ones & been using the AAPL iP leather wallet & like the slimness of it but 2 CCs + 2 IDs are tight in it so may try this from Satechi hmmm.......

Nifty idea, but I feel like a battery would be better for this-- a bit more weight to hold everything and maybe less sensitive to the added thickness.

Because when I lose my phone or when my phone is stolen, I want to be sure the thief in question has my driver's license and credit/debit cards. What could possibly go wrong?

Yup. There’s a reason more and more small businesses have stopped taking cash. Counting cash, filling in spreadsheets and depositing cash in the bank requires time, every day. Debit and credit goes straight into the account and record keeping is built in and automatic.

This wallet is almost perfect. 1 drivers license, 1 health card, and 1 Chipolo FindMy card. Why aren’t there any MagSafe wallets with FindMy built in, not to mention Apple’s own offering?

I‘ve been using the ESR one for a while now. It holds a lot more than most of these MagSafe wallets. Overall the quality is good and I like it, but it is quite bulky and heavy. When I first got it I thought it wasn’t gonna work out because it felt so big, but I tried it for a bit and now I like it. The hinge is sturdy and fairly stiff and holds the phone well. The magnet is plenty strong. It’s a good stand and holds at least 3-4 cards plus cash. I also frequently just stick a couple folded bills in the gap and close it and I dont worry about it coming open.

I bought at least 2-3 other MagSafe wallets before settling on this one. I feel like no one has really made the perfect one yet.

Peakdesign sells similar wallet. Satechi makes good products so I am good with this new release, but the biggest difference would be that Peakdesign wallet is covered by life-time warranty. It is not made of leather, so it will just come down to the design preference.

I know that I'm in the minority but after having a third party wallet attachment and then the Apple branded one and having my debit cards get ruined in both I've given up on these magsafe card carriers. Oddly enough it was only my debit card and my old Costco card, so I chalk it up to poor materials on the mag strips on those cards or something, since a couple of my other CCs survived unscathed.

Initially I thought it was a fluke that my debit card stopped being read reliably in magnetic strip readers after being carried around in the 3rd party magsafe wallet for several weeks, but in an abundance of caution I picked up an Apple version at the same time getting a replacement card. Several weeks later the replacement card failed too, along with my costco card not being readable in their gas pumps. I then ditched the use of a magsafe wallet altogether and went back to my bifold in a separate pocket with brand new debit and costco card. It's been several months with no issues.

I just don't trust long term storage near magnetic fields for cards with magnetic strips.
