Is anyone here satisfied with Yosemite ? There seems to be so many complaints about the OS on this board .. I'm on 10.10 and was thinking of updating but is anything better on 10.10.2 ?

I pretty happy with it. I see a lot of complaints on the forum and a lot of likes. Just gotta be lucky I guess.

There's a few bugs that I've had to deal with, but overall, its decent.

I'm quite happy with 10.10.3, there are still some UI glitches but things are getting better.

If you are on 10.10 you should update as soon as possible. There isn't any reason to say on 10.10.

I installed Yosemite twice. The first time, it wasn't bad but I was disappointed by its sluggish behavior compared to Mavericks. Due to an important issue with Pro Tools which I use daily, I had to go back to Mavericks, doing a clean install. Worked perfectly and flawlessly, and I thought I would simply stay with Mavericks. 2 weeks ago I decided to reinstall Yosemite (10.10.2) because I needed some its specific features - crossing my fingers about Pro Tools at the same time. Since then I have to admit it has been working just as flawlessly as Mavericks. I'm not sure if the clean install I made when I downgraded has helped the second time, I tend to think so. So to answer your question, yes, I'm very satisfied with Yosemite so far. I did like the previous UI a bit more, but I really don't mind the new look, as long as the OS is solid, fast and trouble-free. And for now, it is.

I'm happy with it, running on 2 MBPs, an iMac and an MBA. I haven't upgraded my mini and don't plan on doing so in the near future.

Yosemite 10.10.2 has certainly been stable and issue free running on all 3 of my Mac computers. Amazing considering it is only a .2 release.

I have no problems with Yosemite. It runs better than Mavericks ran, which did give me some hardware problems.

no worse or better in terms of stability to any other OS X release since 10.4.
Didn't really feel solid until 10.10.2

I like the design. I like the new Spotlight. I like that it isn't less snappy than Mavericks (might even be a touch better).

But I've actually forgotten what most of the new features even are.

Really like it, gave OS X a freshness it was needing and really helped solidify this iOS/OS X ecosystem I was after for so long.

The voice of the dissatisfied will always drown out the content. :)

Not satisfied...!

Bugs everywhere, mostly graphically related, not polished... Contrast is *****...! Too ****ing bright everywhere...! Not even optimised for non-Retina Macs, it's unbelievable how Apple would sell OS X on the current MBAs is beyond me...

Finder is slow, made worse with icon preview. Cover Flow don't work right anymore. For those who have not tried the speedy Finder on Snow Leopard, please refrain from commenting.

Preview now requires 4 mouse movements to draw a box as opposed to just 1 on prior OS X'es. Else click on the box template and a default box highlight appears at random and beyond your intended highlight area, then a few more movement for repositioning and size adjustment. Just how stupid is that...? Totally dumbed-down.

Spotlight is good, but not perfect... and slow. It's even a joke with Reduced Transparency enabled, the text "Spotlight Search" got discolored enough to turn you off. So called quality control.

And from Lucida Grande to Helvetica Neue is enough to make your eyes squint. Not friendly to your eyes for those above 40. I'm way below that, and I'm not inclined to spoil my eyes just yet...

And they changed the interface for the sake of CHANGE...? Flat flat flat and white white white everywhere. (Please smart a$$es out there, don't even try to compare this with the flatter Windows 10 - at least they still have some colors left). This is neither evolution or revolution. Worse OS X since Mavericks... or should I say Snow Leopard...?

Why do I get the feeling those people liking Yosemite are a bunch of Ive worshipers or some Windows users wanting a cheapened and QC-riddened OS X...? You've got it...!

And seriously OP, why bother opening this thread when you already on 10.10...?

Please don't take what I am about to ask as an attack because it is not meant to be that way. If you truly hate Yosemite as much as you say you do, then why are you still using it? If it were me I would get rid of Yosemite and install an earlier OS X that was compatible with my hardware. And again, this was not meant as an attack on you.

Really, was that part necessary.

Who says I'm using Yosemite...? I'm merely testing it... There's something called primary and secondary partition no...? :p

That is so silly I'm going to pretend you didn't actually write it, because I'm sure you're smarter than that.

The "problems" I had previously with Yosemite are now completely gone. Except for the different look, which indeed doesn't appeal to everyone, and I'm not crazy about it myself either, the OS is running smoothly and without any trouble. There are still things that I'd prefer differently (Helvetica...), but just because I like it doesn't make me an "Ive worshipper" I've been using Macs since 1995 by the way.
