Can't say I'm that happy. I personally really like the aesthetic but performance seems to have taken a hit. Finder is terribly slow. Preview for most PDFs is unusable. It'll be fixed though so not too worried. Just a bit annoyed that with this release performance seemed to have taken a step back.

Prior to Yosemite every update I received seemed to improve performance, starting from Lion to Mavericks. Late 2013 rMbp.

I love it.

I love the new design, as it feels to me like a modern version of the Tiger UI. It was definitely time for a change; Mavericks was starting to look very old-fashioned. I really like that the UIs on my Mac and iPhone match, and I really like the particular type of Gaussian blur Apple uses in its transparent elements.

I've also been pretty lucky (apparently) in terms of performance and bugs, as I've rarely encountered issues with the system on my Mac. Game performance definitely seems improved when compared to earlier versions of OS X. I can't believe how well the native Mac client for War Thunder runs on my 2011 machine!

Also, I really don't see any issue with Yosemite on non-Retina displays. My MacBook Pro and the dual-monitor Mac mini I use at work both look fine with it. Granted, the high-res display on my MBP helps, but it's roughly the same pixel density as the MacBook Air (13-inch) and I'd say Yosemite looks great on those as well.

Yes, I'm satisfied. After upgrading to SSD and 8 GB RAM, it works like a charm, at least for my daily tasks. I love the design and new features. Every app seems to be working better than when I was using Snow Leopard.
