Yes, unfortunately my old 14 Pro Max is brighter and the whites are more cool temperature.

My 3 candidates. I kept the one on the right. Left one was decent but shifted red too much. Middle one was piss yellow even with True Tone off. The one on the right shifts blue/green which I prefer to shifting red.
Fun fact the one on the right is LG lolI would have chosen the same. The middle one is probably LG.
The right one is a keeper for sure!
Is that GH3 on the right?View attachment 2557043

I would go on guessing that Samsung is in the middle and GVC on the left?
Didn’t check the other two tbh, the left one had a bad red shift. And the middle one was not uniform whatsoever brightness wise but I’d have say your probably rightI would go on guessing that Samsung is in the middle and GVC on the left?
Spoke too soon! lol, it's def not a perfect display as I thought, there's slight vertical color shift when tilting downwards, but not as noticeable as my past Air. Regardless, it's good enough given all the Airs seem to have it.oh wow!
Got a Sky Blue Air 512GB delivered and it has a pristine perfect display with uniform tint and no green tint on angles, I thought those didn't exist on the Air line. So happy that I finally found a keeper! not sure how to check the manufacturer but it must be Samsung or whichever the good one is.
That's normal and probably you meant the battery. The battery can be made in July, but you phone assembled in August. 😀 My 16 Pro is in August 2024 and my sister's in July 2024. 🙂 Pretty typical for launch phones. The phone was produced in July 2025 0.o
Yeah, that's the issue we are talking about most of the time.I don’t see a lot of viewing angles problems, only when looking from top to bottom, slight green tint.
The 17 Pro that I just got had June 2025. It's just the battery production date, not the phone itself.I got GH3 as well on my 17 Pro Max. I don’t see a lot of viewing angles problems, only when looking from top to bottom, slight green tint, however that the least likely angle to look at the phone.

I’m still yet to see anything other than a G9N in the non-max ProI’m so glad I avoided the problematic models this year by chance
It seems PM >> 17 >> Air from most annoying to least of the lotto, right? And 17 pro generally pretty good.
Obviously will be outliers in all cases but
Had a G9P on my 17 Pro. Still had a slight pink shift at extreme angles but overall better than the G9N on my 15 Pro.I’m still yet to see anything other than a G9N in the non-max Pro
Are these different products? 17 and 16?Hey! I have very strange problem with tinting.
You can check that here, I've added a section of my own in addition to the original thread hereoh wow!

Let see what screens you guys have.
I have a LG screen (GVC) on my 17 pro max and has a bad case of screen (green) tinting when moving the bottom of the screen away from my face. Also it has a greenish tint overall when facing straight to my face.
It could be because my 13 pro max is 4 years old and has cumulative 1000’s of hours of screen on time (blue pixels degrade the fastest and red will be more dominant). Colours look somewhat washed out too. Coming from a 13 pro max, which had a perfect screen with better colours, it’s a little disappointing.
Is the lottery a thing again with this generation?
copy / pasted the following from reddit and worked for me:
“For those wondering how to check your display manufacturer...
You can run sysdiagnose on your phone (press volume up, volume down, and lock button) all together for around a second. You will feel the phone vibrate.
Wait a couple of minutes and then go to Settings -> Privacy and Security -> Analytics and Improvements -> Analytics Data.
You will then scroll down and look for a file titled: sysdiagnose_XXXXXXXX.
You will click on that file and then click the arrow in the upper right hand corner and scroll down and click “Save to Files” Once it is saved you will go into your files and click the file to unpack it.
Within the folder that is unpacked you will click on the folder “ioreg” and then click the file “IODeviceTree”.
You will then use the magnifying search glass in the bottom right hand corner to search “raw-panel”. It will then give you a serial number.
I have an LG display which has the beginning letters of GH3.
GVC is the best of the LG panels but not as good as Samsung’s best which is the G9N.
The top 3 panels are:
• Samsung G9N • Samsung G9Q • LG GVC
The worst panel is LG GH3.”
There is an easier method that doesn't rely on using the power and volume buttons.
Settings --> Accessibility --> Touch --> toggle on AssistiveTouch --> A white dot will appear
under the sub-heading "Custom Actions" in the same menu, you will see "single-tap", "double-tap", click on single or double tap and change it from it's default to analytics (I like to use single touch) from the list. When you single tap or double tap on the white dot that appeared before, a message will appear on the top of the screen that it's gathering analytical info.
After it's finished gathering information, go to settings --> Privacy & Security --> Analytics & Improvements --> Analytics then obtain the sysdiagnose_XXXXXXXX file and proceed as in the previous tutorial
Hope this makes it easier for everyone
