Screen scratch - Recommendations?

My ultra 2 has literally taken chunks out of walls, etc. and is good as new.

This just sold me on needing to get an Ultra. I’m extremely tough on my watches and the so called water-compatible screen protectors were useless (see avatar for my typical water use). Even for dry land use I hate the hassle of keeping screen protectors clean-functional. My SE got tons of scratches and my Series 10 just got a full crack at 1 1/2 years. Not leaking yet but I expect it will fail pretty soon with all my water use. Think I’m just gonna splurge on an Ultra 4.

I read that the Series 11 Titanium/Saphire option is actually more prone to glass cracking since the sapphire is more brittle. Scratch resistance and crack resistance are not the same thing, and to me that curved glass face is a disaster waiting to happen

I've had numerous sapphire screened smartwatches and traditional watches, never cracked or smashed one yet and I wear my watches for everything I do. Work or play it doesn't matter - I have a watch on and I don't baby them.

Maybe I'm just lucky

I got a tiny scratch on my Series 10 screen a month or two after I got it. It's only noticeable if I look for it, otherwise I forget it's there. I bought an 8 pack of screen protectors to prevent further damage. I can still see the scratch (if I look for it) under the protector. The protector itself is invisible--just once in awhile something might hit the edge of it and make it peel, but then when I get home I just replace the protector in 20 seconds, no big deal. I believe I'm on my 2nd or 3rd protector. The first one started peeling after only a week for whatever reason, but this last one has been on for a couple months and hasn't peeled.

I also got a cheap case for my AW which I intended to use when I do manual labor or any activity that might damage it, but I've never used it because I always end up just switching to my cheap Casio for that day.

If I could go back in time, I might get the sapphire screen so that I don't have to put on a protector, but I don't like spending money on watches so more likely I would have just put a screen protector on my S10 from the beginning. Or had I know the S11 was going to get 2x more scratch-resistant glass, I probably would have just waited for that (and I would take the gamble without a protector). But I don't want to replace my AW now, the scratch doesn't bother me nearly enough. After I'm done writing this post, I will have already forgotten about it.

I wonder though if anyone has tried buffing a scratch out of their AW...
