Screenshots of Newsprint - a new powerful RSS reader

Hi guys. I just wanted to post a few screenshots of an upcoming RSS reader for iPhone that will be released very soon. It´s an RSS reader app with the features a power user would want and an interface that makes it a joy to use.

So I guess there is a reason for the crazy angle shots? Don't worry I don't want to know.

What I do want to know is what makes this a powerhouse, what separates it from the pack?
 
Wow, just seen more screenshots on your website! Looks really really nice!! I own dozens of RSS apps, and I gotta tell you I like the look of yours the most. It's like the best of all possible worlds. Can't wait to buy it!

P.S. Suggestion: consider relocating them next/previous buttons as it's very inconvenient to reach for them with one's thumb when holding in the left hand. Or at least, implement an alternative way of going to the next item/article, e.g., swiping sideways.

I would say that it has all the functions you´d expect from a powerful RSS reader, packed in an attractive UI that makes it easy to use.

None of the links were working on the site. I'd like to read about Features.

Tip: Save screenshots to your photo library to get an idea of the interface (hold finger on image).
 
Interesting. I went to your site but none of the links are working off the main page. What is the price going to be? Are you going to have a limit on how many RSS feeds one can have?

I like the icon, the newspaper look like it's sticking out its tongue.

The rest of the links will be activated once the app is released ;)
You can save up to 200 articles per feed.
 
Looks quite nice but Reeder will take some beating for usability and interface - one thing I notice immediately is the list of articles.... while it's great you show 2 lines of the article title, you don't show 1 or 2 lines of preview text from the article, this is a must for me and I've tried almost all the RSS readers on the appstore :)

Thanks for the comment, it´s actually an interesting discussion, and it basically boils down to if you want more articles or more details about each article, in this case we opted for more articles :)

Why bother with the rudeness, does it make you feel like a big man?

I think the different style of screenshots look great. Good on the devs for trying something different. Very modern and stylish.
 
I just looked at the screenshots on your website. I can see this shooting to the top of the "News" category of the App Store. It has the perfect recipe: Powerful, Nice UI, Eyecandy. Hell, even the app icon is nice looking.
 
This could be a good replacement for my twitter that I only use to follow tech articles.

Looks a lot like MobileRSS including the swipe 'option bar'. It will be interesting to compare. I have tried almost all the rss readers and right now MobileRSS is my preferred reader app. Some like Reeder better but I find it's smaller fonts and grayed background make it harder to read than MobileRSS.

To me, MobileRSS is a mess. Newsprint's UI is far more superior with much more polished and cooler looking graphics. What I hate about MobileRSS is how one has to swipe all the way down in order to go to the next unread article (besides using inconveniently placed up/down buttons). A lot of swiping, ya know! No, thanks!

Its hard to say the Newprint UI is more polished when it is not even released yet. How do you know there is not a lot of swiping for various features or other issues? Newprint's up/down buttons appear to be in the same spot as MobileRSS which works fine for me. Its right where my thumb is when browsing.

Hey have tried and bought most of the RSS readers. None are perfect but as I said MobileRSS is the best for me right now. But I can't really compare it to vaporware. Hopefully there will be a free/lite version of Newsprint to really test if it is a superior UI.

Did you know that right-handed people tend to use their left hand when they have to operate their iPhone solely with one hand? ;) Now try holding your phone in the left hand and reaching for those buttons with your left-hand thumb. Awkward, right?

While the placement of those buttons in MobileRSS, Newsprint as well as Byline is identical, the developer and I have already discussed it in an earlier post. ;)

OK I'm right handed so I hold my phone in my right hand like most right-handed people do when browsing on their phone. So the buttons work fine for right handers. Yes a right hander might switch to their left hand if they need to listen to the phone AND use their right hand to write something down. But when picking up the iphone to quickly check feeds (or browse, etc.) they are going to use their dominant hand most of the time. It's just natural. I do understand that for left handed people the button placement (for many apps) can unfortunately be awkward.

It always cracks me up when people point to "studies" when trying to make a point.
