Hello,

After reading all these treads about battery problems on 6S, overheating and glitches on 10.2 I am all the time thinking if staying on 9.3.5 was a good or bad idea.

On one side iOS 9 is classic and bugless. It's also secure. The best factor I need is battery life and it seems to beat iOS 10.2 all the time. Few YouTube videos of 6 or 5s shows it's worse on new OS.
I have Samsung CPU so if it's worse - it's much worse here :)

All apps I need are still supported to 9.3.5 so there is no problems.
I hated iOS 10 new Music app, Messages and Mail.

Are they fixed - no problems with HTML and preview in new mail? What about notifications - are they still clumsy and can't be sorted by app ? Messages still have multimedia buttons at opening of conversation not only text field?

So many threads about all kinds of iOS 9 issues around the same time last year.

Sounds like you are better off staying on iOS 9, given that there's nothing you really mention as wanting from iOS 10 anyway.

Sounds like you answered your own question. If you hate all the apps in iOS 10.2, supposed battery issues, glitches, clumsy UI and don't really want the 10.2 features not sure why you are even asking. Stick with what you have. On the other hand I have none of that on iOS 10.2. One thing for sure, you cannot go back so if you pull the trigger know that's what you want.

Let's put it this way OP. I have both an iPhone 6S on 9.3.5 and an iPhone 7 on 10.2 and I am seriously about to have to switch back to the 6s despite the lack of water resistance and lower storage space simply because iOS 10.2 still has so many serious issues with disconnecting from bluetooth, cellular and wifi, apps crashing, etc on my iPhone 7.

[Edit] One of the only reasons I haven't already switched back is because you can't restore an iOS 10.2 backup to a 9.3.5 device and I really don't want to start over from scratch with all of my saved settings, messages, etc.

If you're not waiting to jailbreak, I would.

My SE is on 10.2 and it has been rock solid so far.

Do NOT update under any circumstances!
iOS 10 will slow down your iPhone SE, regardless what other people tell you.
Sometimes it might be just a really small lag but after all you'll get annoyed!
If you really want iOS 10, wait till august or so when the final and last version of iOS 10 is released.

Interesting how someone can just tell what someone else would experience...

Haha no i mean some people might not notice lags and stuttering. But I do immediately. So I can warn people.

I have an SE and have no lag or stuttering. And I have a very keen eye for that kind of stuff. 10.2 has been solid.

I'm still on 9.3.5 on my SE and my iPads.

I'll update at some point, I guess... just haven't felt compelled to, yet.

If you have doubt and there's nothing compelling you to upgrade, why take the risk?

I'm not upgrading. My company is requiring us to upgrade iOS 10.0 or higher by year end to access Good for Enterprise on our personal devices. I'm taking the GFE app off my phone and moving it to my iPad to avoid upgrading.

No regrets.

Shut the heck up, Bladery. iOS 10.2 will not slow down your damn phone. Your words are worthless. Don't like iOS 10? Then you have to wait until the first beta of iOS 11 after the WWDC17.

Bladery is correct in describing my experience on iOS 10. It's just slow enough to be extremely frustrating to operate on my 6+. I wish I had never upgraded to 10 and would advise those with iPhone 6 era phones to stay on iOS 9.

The whole slide-down-on-texts-to-type-quick-response thing is no longer quick, it takes like 5 seconds to load. Would almost be faster to just switch directly to the iMessages app.

So you still can't disable faces in gallery ? As mentioned before some apps give me crazy on iOS 10.

Main purpose of upgrading would be for me battery life, 9.3.5 on reduced motion worked faster than 10.0.1 I had.

Overall iOS 10.2 and later should be better in this terms.

You have an older phone right? You can't compare the different hardware. This is an important difference as iOS 10 is generally faster on A9 devices. The SE shouldn't be slow and laggy.

I do not have Bluetooth issues or other problems in IOS 10.2.

No reason to be offensive mate!

Apparently there are quite a few people who agree!
I like iOS 10 with its new features but it slows down older devices. Period.

And yet other people don't experience some slowdown that degrades their experience. Someone can't really conclude these things for someone else. They can certainly share their experience and perception, but that's about it.

My se seems to run the same on iOS 10 as on iOS 9. It is interesting how some have better results than others. I don't have a lot of apps so maybe that is why.

I bet it would be also related to CPU. What's why I mentioned my Samsung one.
