Hi All,

Wicknix has released SeaLion 33.4.0.

Wicknix said:
This release is current with the latest UXP. You can find out what has changed from UXP's release notes found here: https://www.palemoon.org/releasenotes.shtml

Add-ons, extensions, and themes can be found here: https://github.com/wicknix/SeaLion/releases/download/33.0.0/SeaLion-Extras-33.0.0.zip

Older browsers that can't see the downloads click here: https://github.com/wicknix/SeaLion/releases/expanded_assets/33.4.0

Do to hardware and time constraints i will no longer be providing x86_64 Linux binaries.

I compiled SeaLion 33.4.0 with the new Goanna layout and rendering engine 6.7 for older Linux PPC distributions for example Void PPC without AltiVec support today.

Download: sealion-33.4.0.linux-powerpc-void-gtk2.tar.xz

The new SeaLion 33.4.0 connected via the DPAA Ethernet on Void PPC:

Is there any chance that SeaMail could be made to run on Mac OS X Leopard? I believe that I have read that SeaLion cannot, but I am still looking for a reasonable fast PPC email client. I am using an old version of TenFourBird, but something newer and better would be GREAT!

For Fienix:

You need libffi7 and libjpeg8 for SeaLion on Fienix.

You can install them with the following commands:

Bash:
fienix@fienix:~/Downloads/sealion$ sudo apt-get install libffi7
fienix@fienix:~/Downloads/sealion$ sudo apt-get install libjpeg8

@xeno74 i have another update you can have Casey add to the Fienix repo. This was built on Fienix 6, but should run on most any 32-bit PPC Linux.

SeaMail is now available (an update to the old SpiderMail).

I'm not building this every release because mail clients really don't require as many updates as browsers do.
So for now it's available from here instead of my git repo.

Cheers

Did you ever try building with GTK (as opposed to Cocoa) GUI on macOS?

No. I don’t see the point of that when native cocoa is available.

Even if it built with GTK on Mac it’d still require XQuartz to be running which would eat precious resources on older Macs.

As of now, nothing newer than TFF with Cocoa backend works, sadly. Both Palemoon and Arctic Fox build, but neither is usable.
A quick attempt to get Palemoon with GTK backend failed for me, admittedly (builds but also crashes), but at least, unlike Cocoa, GTK is fixable more or less with certainty, since no SDK constraints and no inherently broken stuff like ObjC blocks.

On G5 resources it is not an issue. Not that I admire x11, but due to lack of robustness, not resource consumption.

I cannot get it to run in Debian sid. I tried many things like linking the libffi.so files and libjpeg.so files to no avail.
