Yes, I am still alive

So I guess this makes 24 hours or so since the last update. First, I didn't end up spending the night on the couch nor did I get bopped on the head. She did make a casual comment about how she likes Illustrator so much better on the mac than windows... not quite the ballpark I was looking for but at least she's pleased with her illustrating experience.

I almost got busted though. For some reason, the Tiger migration tool that I so highly acclaimed in my earlier post failed me for the first time! It transfered most but not all of her settings...the easiest fix ever though. I just ended up doing a root copy of her user directory & voila... I was back in business. Then and I mean within a minute, she walks through the front door.

So after day 1, it's all gravy! The mini intel in the livingroom is perfect for hdtv and her g4 is definitely a winner on Office and Illustrator. She also mentions that Firefox hasn't been crashing as much lately. :)

Until tomorrow.

A very sneaky little ruse you've pulled over on your wife, just so you could get what you want.

I'm glad I'm not married to you.

She may have some hidden files...if that's the case you are in for some trouble ;)

At least that is my prediction.

Why didn't you just ask her?

Yeah...I don't know, but I'm guessing that men don't have a monopoly on stashing computer files in places their spouses are unlikely to find ;) . It's just a matter of time until she's at her computer for a long time looking concerned but won't tell you why...

...in any case, what fun!! Is this the first time in macrumors history that someone meticulously 'blogged' an episode of spouse-deceit on a thread?

Fingers crossed that all remains calm. Well played my friend

Haha. Brilliant. Hope it works out for you, but I'd have to recommend you follow through with the "Sanka Challenge" formula and tell her she's been using the G4 after a week or so. When you do, make sure you have a pink Nano on standby to give to her. :)

Haha, that sounds definitely like a good idea! :D

I've been thinking about the Nano and have gone to Circuit City and CompUSA to check them out. As I am clueless on the Nano colors, pink sounds like a winner as she does love pink. Worse comes to worse, she can always return and exchange it for another color.

By the way, so far she still hasn't noticed the G4 / Intel switch. i plan on telling her after work tomorrow, some time shortly before Grey's Anatomy. In case anything goes wrong, Grey's should even things out a bit :) I'll post my final update tomorrow.

Finally Grey's Anatomy is back from there break xD Yay, I'll be able to record it for the next few weeks without having to interfere with The Office! :D

Sounds like you got a plan! To bad they only make the pink ones in 4gb, I had to settle for the shuffle in pink to make up for something I did. Hahaha :D She still loved it either way!

What's up? Should we call the cops  ?

Sorry guys and gals. No cops were called, no mac keyboards or mighty mice flew across the room... all is calm on the G4 front.

So I casually brought up "the Switch" over some good sushi and Grey's Anatomy yesterday. Seemed to be winning combination. After I told her, all she said was, "you are my ultimate geek. can i take the mac to work?" (I'm not kidding) :) I told her she also had a thread that gave lots of good advice...she laughed.

And, by the way, the free over the air hdtv on our 91" projector screen looks and plays fantastic on the Mini CD 1.6. BYOB :)

That's awesome, I wonder if I could get my girlfriend to swap her MB for my PowerBook, could work I s'pose.

I don't even think my girlfriend would notice if I swapped my MacBook with her NEC laptop.

"Wow, Windows looks so different."

That's funny, if a bit mean...but the real reason I'm posting is to tell you that's the funniest signature I've ever seen on this site. Rock on.
