I'm looking to buy a 2014 MBP 2.5 or 2.8/16GB/1TB off eBay, but I'm really confused about the prices: e.g. there are many of the 2.8 MBPs in excellent condition selling for around 1000 - 1100 GBP (no bid) on eBay UK, while on eBay Germany there are just a few of the 2.5 and prices go from 1600 € or more. Is 1000 GBP ("buy now") for a highest specced 2014 MBP a bit suspicious, considering the Greman prices? Also, many of them have low seller's feedback (20 to 30 stars), but 100% positive... o_O If anyone can help on this - I'd much appreciate it! Thanks a lot

Just a warning about ebay. If the last feedback on the seller's account is from over 6 months ago, it could be a hacked account (even if they write on the listing that they accept cash on delivery). I've seen dozens of them.

Thanks a lot for the warning buran-energia! Really hard to say as many of them got just 1 or 2 feedbacks in the past 6 months, although they had hundreds 100% positive fb "more than a year ago". The photos and descriptions seem pretty legit tho. Perhaps I should focus on "no return accepted" and other stuff that seems tricky... so frustrating.

I wouldn't be too concerned, just use common sense (dont wire money to Nigeria for example). With Ebay and Paypal, the onus is on the seller to prove that the product is delivered as advertised. Between Ebay, Paypal and your credit card you have 3 lines of defense and it is very rare for buyers to be left holding the bag. Most complaints about Ebay are from sellers getting scammed.

As for the concern regarding price difference between Ebays, I would pay attention to the regional differences. Wouldn't surprise me if the German Ebay had MBP listing with a German keyboard which may command a premium.
