I kinda want to and I kinda don't. Both machines are great and yes next year promises so much more but I am concerned about resale values.

If the M1 setup would do everything you expect to need to do, then it's probably worthwhile to pull the trigger now vs later. Your current Intel systems won't ever be worth as much as they are worth today.

However if there's something missing - a need for a larger display, a need for Windows, a need for more RAM or more ports, then you'd be wise to wait until there's system that meet those needs. It's more expensive to resell/buy again because you didn't buy what you needed.

1. If it's only slight, you might not want to remove the AR coating, mine was pretty bad and all over the screen.

2. There are a number of methods that people use and claim to work - I cannot comment on them as I only used this method. I would say it took me about 20 minutes in total.

3. It definitely made it more reflective, but given how unsightly it was the net improvement was huge in my case.

After: (unfortunately I don't have an after pic with the screen off but the glass looked perfectly clear afterwards).

Wow, that is quite the before/after! Well done.

Ours isn't that bad, and you only notice it when the screen is off, so I might take your advice and hold off. Thanks for the info tho!

I sold my 2018 13" i5 week after M1's were announced, i suspect it'd be much harder even today. And i sold Mini i7 IN ADVANCE and the guy is waiting till i recieve my M1. Will get a beefier mini when it gets released in 2021.

I think it's no brainer if you can logistically go through with it.

Typing this update on the M1 Mini, which I installed last night and am setting up today.

First: DAMN this thing is fast. Not a gamer, per se, but for what I do it's flawlessly fast.
Second: Definitely some wifi issues, like I've read others have experienced. Wifi dropped a bunch of times. Once I installed the usb-c to ethernet adapter I had and connected it to my FIOS gigabit router, it's been spotless. Makes me worry about the same issue in the air I have yet to open and set up.
Third: I wish I had the budget for a 4K monitor. This 24" 1080 Asus is very nice, but I was used to the 27" retina 5K I sold in August and this will take some getting used to. I ordered a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter from amazon to see if it would make a difference.
Fourth: didn't realize how few apps work with this yet, thought the ability to install iOS apps, which I have yet to try, is pretty damn cool.

More to come!

Be aware that, as I recall, the iOS app author has to mark their app as available for M1 usage. So there may be plenty of apps which do work, but whose authors haven't yet marked them as such.
