I've recently been considering selling off parts of my cd collection too. There are so many that I have no real desire to have any longer.

What's the best place to get rid of these to turn the most $?

Care to share what model ?

Sure,

Amplifier is a Cary SLI-80 Signature ($3600):

Speakers are Tyler Acoustics "Taylo Reference" ($2400):

DAC is a Bel Canto DAC3 ($2500):

CD Player is from Theta Digital ($2200, an older model, they don't make it any more):

Interconnect and speaker cables are by Cardas and power cords by PS Audio (about $1000)

So that's my system! Components have the new MSRP price next to them, just for reference. I have an AirPort Express attached to the DAC (cd player also going through the DAC) that I use with iTunes.

It sounds like nothing you've ever experienced before if you're only familiar with "Big Box Store" type of equipment. :D If you're in the DC area, stop by and have a listen, I don't mind!!

I have around 600 CDs. I will keep them as backup in case I ever loose my encoded music or want to re-encode at a different quality.

One of my projects this year is to move my CD collection from the jewel cases to CD binders. In fact, I've already purchased the CD binders. Getting rid of the jewel cases will save a lot of space (which is very important here in Japan due to the small size of the apartments) and weight of my collection.

Trying to find the time to re-encode my music before reorganizing my CDs. I will be using iTunes to order the music and want my CDs in the same order in the CD binders to make it easy to find them.

Guess I have some work to do.
