The 10.13.4 update caused several issues for me: Now my iMac Pro boots up into OSX with near max brightness every time,
Ah, so I'm not crazy. I notice the same thing, in fact it pointed out that my display has a lot of light bleed in one corner. I never see it at the brightness level I use.

Have you noticed in change any fan noise? That was the first thing I noticed after installing 10.3.4. For the first time I'm noticing the fans when I run processor intensive jobs (Handbrake).
 
It doesn’t turn off the t2 chip, it just disables the security part of it.

And I already have it “disabled” anyway.
 
Not to hijack but why is everyone still using Handbrake? I think it's high water mark was fast DVD ripping...

I don't know but If you have an iMac Pro it's probably time to let go of handbrake, don't ya think?

Especially if there are tons of trouble free video conversion applications that won't make your iMac Pro go haywire.
