The price is certainly tempting -if you have confidence in ebay making things right should it go pear-shaped.

They said they copied the listing from another seller that had the same product so the pics carried over thats why it was stock photos and the keyboard looked that way lol

My advice:

Don't buy any "new" Mac from ebay.

Buy it from either a brick n mortar Apple Store, or from Apple's online store.
Or... from a "known good" 3rd-party reseller.

But from ebay?
First time buyer?
Caveat emptor !

While Apple is basically another discount computer company today like HP, Dell, etc., discounts that steep for current SKUs are rare so this is probably some kind of scam.

Unless the seller is an Apple authorized retailer you may have no warranty for the machine.

Buy from an authorized retailer - B&H Photo, Amazon, Best Buy, etc. Many of these retailers offer discounts much better than you'll find on Apple.com, and are trustworthy.

The seller has now removed the keyboard skin image, but still nothing to show there's more than a box.

Price elsewhere is close to $700 more

I was always under the impression that if someone has good feedback on Ebay and has a decent amount of sales that its safe

Ebay say they'll always make it right if the item isn't as described - regardless of the listing return policy. Whether that's worth the potential hassle, is up to you.

How/why a seller mainly involved with DVDs & acessories comes across a boxed, configure to order, MBP - then uses generic images, with unidentifiable box pics - could make a person wonder if everything is as it seems.

Check out sold listings, 3D printers, Video cards, Scooters, Dysons, Massage guns, Printers, Kitchen stuff, Apple Pencil, JBL, Stanley cups, Video games and a ton of DVD's telling me its fake stuff and NONE of these people complained and left Neg feedback? little unlikely

Other than mentioning a game or 2 and 1 app you haven’t said anything on what this computer would be used for…

And re a “good” price on eBay - you have been warned…
