Seriously, no option to turn off 3G?

i think this is a carrier settings option.

I've never had this ability on the Verizon iPhone, as long as I can remember. The only option I've ever seen was "Cellular Data > On/Off". I sometimes turn that + wifi off if I'm trying to conserve battery.
