I haven't used the Taig jailbreak, but I didn't have a single issue using Pangu on a 6, 6+, Mini, and Air 2.

My iPhone 6 on 8.1 doesnt seem smooth, maybe the tewaks I have are still buggy.

Battery Life sucks, the wifi issue drives me crazy, I just use my 4G/LTE. I installed WiFried doesnt seem to work right unless im doing something wrong.

I will be updating using Taig this week

Thats the one where you simply went to a website and it was jailbroken in minutes right? by far lol

Yes sir that's right! Just had to type that into your safari browser, then you just clicked on the button on the website and waited a few minutes to jailbreak. It would Respring and you had Cydia!

I just wish they would release a OS X jailbreak tool for 8.1.1. Yes I JB'd 8.1 with Pangu on Parallels but I like running iTunes on OS X b/c it runs better and having to go back and forth between Windows and OS X is a bit of a pain. Either way, I am happy we have the option to JB.

I agree with this! I think restoring and updating to 8.1.1 took longer than the jailbreak did.. so fast and easy. I just tried it on my iPod Touch this morning to see how it went, and now I'm thinking about updating my 5S to 8.1.1 and JBing again.

Also, does anyone know the best way to save HTML codes from iFile? I have several lockscreens I'm using with LockHTML that are altered to my liking, and i'd hate to lose it. Would dropbox be a good option? That's the one reason I'm still waiting to update.

Yes on Dropbox. I usually zip mine up directly in iFile, then open a new page in there to Dropbox & copy/paste the zipped themes over. Compressing the files first isn't mandatory, but it's a bit easier if you're dealing with several of them at once.

Of course, you can also USB the files to your desktop, etc. using iFunbox or similar software, but I do so much of my actual phone setup uncabled, iFile + Dropbox is way more convenient for me.

I just backed up my iPad Mini tonight and was going to go from iOS 7 to 8.1 and use Taig but saw they just stop signing it. Bah. Until next time.

8.1 jailbreak is Pangu.
8.1.1 jailbreak is Taig.

While you're correct that 8.1 is no longer being signed, 8.1.1 is, and you can use the Taig jailbreak for it. You'll either need a Windows computer or something like Parallels/VMware/VirtualBox on a Mac.

My iOS 7 is working fine but some of the features that Mavericks has tempted me to update to 8. Is it worth going to that? I have Parallels installed so I could use that but don't necessarily need 8 if there isn't THAT much difference.

Thanks for the info!

Original Mini, or Retina? I'm not sure I'd take an original Mini up to 8.x.x. In fact, I actually traded mine in on an rMini when I saw how bad the reports were of running 8 on older devices, and I have zero regrets. The rMini does very well on 8.1.1; the new features like extensions in Safari and widgets in the NC tend to outweigh the remaining bugs for me. I haven't jailbroken it yet, but I'm sure I eventually will when Taig brings out a Mac version.

Mini Retina. Just like you said in this post, I may wait until they bring out a Mac version of the JB. :)

I bought a 6plus two days ago and gave my husband my 6 that was jail broken with 8.1 - when he was setting up his phone he restored and upgraded it to 8.1.1. The plus turned out to be too big for my taste so I returned and got him a iPhone 6 64gb. I took my 128gb i6 back and used the Taig j/b to rejailbreak my phone - super quick and easy ###

Yea Taig is a winner.

btw - I initially wanted a 6+ put when I went to buy it I thought it was too big. I got the 6 instead. Two weeks later I went back and got the 6 plus. After using it a few days I thought it was too big and regretted my decision. After using for for a few weeks, I'm glad I got the 6 plus. It takes a while to get used to but once you do! :D

Yea - it wasn't pocketable and my main reason for returning it was I couldn't put it in my back pocket or in my front pockets in my jeans,

I try to leave my purse in my trunk of my car whenever I can. I'm okay with the 6. I never want a phone I have to hold with two hands to use. I watched a lady in Walmart have her plus in her hand and struggle to type a message in line - nope not for me

Back to the subject - I am very happy with the jailbreak tool of Taig

My battery life on my iP6 running 8.1 Pangu is also dog poop. In general, the device ran pretty smooth tho. I just Restored & updated to 8.1.2. Hopefully battery life will get better & maybe i'll JB via Taig. Not sure if it was the JB causing battery issues or a recent screen replacement

Jailbreakme 3.0

I remember when dudes starting jailbreaking the store models on the Apple Stores with this. :D

Anyone set one free on the store models?

I can vouch for TaiG

Yes. I'm on a 4S. TaiG worked for me. It took at least a half hour, though. It was stuck on 30% for a long time and then 60% just as long or longer.

I avoided iOS 8 until last night just because I wanted to jailbreak and the version of 7 I had still didn't have an available jailbreak. I'm noticing my battery drains fast.
