Woo Hoo! My iMac is finally "in transit" with a delivery date of 10/3. I'm glad it made out it out of Shanghai before next week.

Interesting update here. I just got a call from someone from Apple (a 512 area code) in regards to the email that was sent to Steve Jobs, that I posted above. He said that he was personally looking into my shipment and has other people working on it too. I was pleasantly shocked and wasn't expecting this at all. He said that he would be calling me Monday morning with an update and I got an additional $33 dollar reimbursement on top of the one they already gave me for the expedited shipping charge. He said that he hasn't been notified about any delays due to the Chinese holiday next week, but that there were slight delays due to the typhoon. So that's pretty much it! I'm just kind of shocked that they went this far out of there way.

Mine is in transit too!

Here is my situation for my iMac. My current status is "Int'l shipment release" and is scheduled for delievery on Oct 3, 2007 by 10:30 AM. Today's updates were;

"12:41 PM Int'l shipment release ANCHORAGE, AK "
"10:44 PM Picked up SHANGHAI CN Package received after FedEx cutoff"

Does this mean the package is now in Alaska? Or is on the way to Alaska from China? I hope my package got out of China before the week holiday!

It sounds like it will! My package also has delivery for the 3rd so it looks like we all were on the same boat, so to speak. I imagine we will see our iMacs on Tuesday.

Now my delivery date says Oct 08th and the status says "shipment exception" whatever that means. As always my package was received after the FedEx cutoff so its looking like one more iMac-less week.:(

I got the same message about being too late for the Fed Ex cutoff. Now no delivery unti at least 10/8. Looks to me like we missed the last plane out before the holiday. So a two week delivery window after it "shipped." And of course my credit card was charged back on 9/26.

Glad to hear you're getting yours next week, svalentine. Enjoy.

So, I'm guessing that "Shipment exception" means that it got caught up in customs or something then? I just can't believe it got pushed back an additional 5 days.

My tracking info says that it left Shanghai on Sept. 29 and landed in Alaska on September 28 with delivery by October 3. I knew Apple products were good but I didn't expect time travel as a feature :D

Well time machine IS a new feature in Leopard so maybe they apply it to everything now including delivery!!

Wow after my smart ass comment I decided to check on my status one last time for the day and mine says it is in Alaska too! There is no way that it will take a whole week from Monday to reach me when it is in N. America already! Surely I would imagine i will get it on or around the 3rd.

long dark night

looks like morning will be coming very soon now... :apple:

Mine's in Anchorage too! These guys sure like taking us on a roller coaster ride - you'll get it late, no you're getting it early, no you're getting it really late, well maybe not.... stayed tuned.

Does anyone know if FedEx still delivers packages to other FedEx locations on the weekends? I imagine that they would and then ship things out from there on Monday.

If you're wondering if it will leave Anchorage this weekend I think the problem there may be US customs who may not work weekends. There's usually an update when it clears customs. Anyway that has to happen first before it gets shipped onwards.

Yes they do...

That is why I like them over UPS; here in Las Vegas they do deliver on Sat but not Sun...:D:apple:

now in the afternoon here in LV: FedEx just dropped of a package that was to have been delivered on Tuesday, today is Saturday. Make friends with your drivers... its a stand for my powerbook.

My status is now Int'l shipment release as of today and is still listed as being in Alaska, so I really don't know what the hell is going on. Does that mean it made it through customs?

No change on the website TNT tracker for the iMac since last Thursday, so I rang TNT.

No problems - the iMac was scanned through the Netherlands at 9.43 this morning, which is the European hub from which everything is sent out. Delivery may be tomorrow or Wednesday, certainly no delay anywhere as the iMac made it out of China before their national holiday.

But to top it off, the girl I spoke to at TNT said she will keep an eye on my shipment and I have her direct extension number to call her back. She said to check in with her tomorrow morning for an update.

Pretty good customer service for a courier I thought!

So there it is, sitting in the Netherlands. Now it just needs to transfer to the UK and clear customs, and then be put on a truck bound for the North West!

Mine is in the next state over right now, about an hour away but it needs to leave the dest. sort facility to go to one more place before it gets delivered out to me! I just keep hoping that I see, "Out for delivery" but I notice that there is somewhat of a delay between where it is and when they post it online.

Mine made its way to about 10 miles away this morning, so hopefully they deliver today. If not today, tomorrow for sure.

Man I would be pissed if I were you and they didn't deliver it today! The only thing that I don't like about FedEx, that UPS allows you to do, is pick packages up yourself. I just wish that my estimate still didn't say Oct 08th, because I am worried that it says that date (and not the 1st as it was first estimated to arrive) on the package and is considered low priority for other packages that may need to be shipped out today.

My delivery date still shows October 8 but mine is on the truck and "out for delivery." So unless they plan to drive around with it for the next week, I expect to see it today.

Mine has just changed to "On vehicle for delivery," so I will get it today.

My estimate still says October 8, FWIW.

Good luck to everyone waiting - seems the backlog is clearing. :)

Now I just have to figure out how to deal with jealous co-workers that have no idea I'm getting a new machine.:D
