Love your work on here.
As stated in my post earlier I have downloaded Procreate and Adobe Fresco.

New to all of this, not even used to drawing on a iPad! Learning though.
What would be your recommendation drawing something like the attached? Obviously I've got a lot of learning to do but I don't want to spend all my time on a certain app which isn't particulalry suited to this style. Looking at something like the below or even sports team logos too.

Illustrator on the pic below is a local illustrator called David Robinson. Instagram is @DaveRobDesign
Thanks for your appreciation!
I haven't been uploading drawings for a long time, and that's because I went back to analog. Nothing beats pen and paper for me.

As for the illustration you're showing...
To me this looks like vector art, so my recommendation would be Vectornator (a free app on iOS and macOS).
Not familiar with Affinity Designer, but that may be an alternative (not free though).

Good luck, and enjoy !

I know you're just being silly and learning the software, but I love that software has gotten to the point where you can literally create anything you can think of. I am by no means a freehand artist of any kind, but can still make some great stuff with Affinity Designer or ProCreate or whatever else because the tools are there to make up for my lack of artistic ability.
I know what you mean, but this can be a rabbit hole to watch out for.
Before you know, you'll find yourself fiddling with Procreate Brush Settings instead of being creative all together.
At least, that was my problem - and the main reason for me to turn back to analog.

One more thing if I may suggest: don't say you lack artistic ability, because you don't. Focus on your process rather than on the result, and you'll have a great time.

Created by Bhavesh - Comic - 5 Forms of Clutter.jpg

Pencilled and inked on paper. Scanned onto iPad where I've added the copy and colour using Affinity Publisher 2.

This is the first comic I've created, and I'll be making comics for my website moving forward. I'll test doing the inking process on iPad for the next comic to see which method I prefer. Would appreciate constructive feedback given this is my first comic as that will support me in improving 😊

This time, I inked the comic on iPad rather than paper to see how I felt during the creative process. I also placed a 2-day limit on myself to complete a comic page spread from initial idea to completed version. Everything was accomplished in Affinity Publisher 2.

I’m learning about visual storytelling to gain a better understanding of the craft. This is because I am crafting an original comic story of my own and intend for this to be released on my website in a few months. With this in mind, I produced a ‘Camera Shot’ comic as a learning resource which I can return to, and want to share it with other creatives who may also benefit.

I only found this thread and I spend a long while going through all those posted paintings and drawings and sketches. Pretty amazing.

Tell me, how do you learn that? It's just some kind of sorcery to me. I do have an iPad and the Pencil...

There are lots of Procreate tutorials on YouTube and there’s a free Procreate course at https://learn.every-tuesday.com/procreate-for-beginners/. There are probably YouTube demos for other drawing/sketching programs, as well. I just have my hands full with Procreate for the time being.

Depends on what exactly you want to learn. Is it drawing as such?
Then grab a sheet of paper and a pen (no pencil, no eraser ;-), and start making marks.
Anything goes.

For now, I suggest you forget about the iPad for a little while. Along with any drawing app for that matter.
With all due respect, but many if not most of the Youtube (Procreate) trainings are about fiddling with brushes, layer settings and other digital trickery.

Please do not compare your (entry level) works with what you find in this thread or p.e. at Instagram.
Compare yourself not to others, but to your own self yesterday.
Practice, practice and then practice more - and you will get better over time.

Try to discover things that seem to resonate with you - like styles, materials, colors, subjects...
And above all: what really counts is the process, not the end result.

Finally, once you're a little bit familiar with the drawing basics, you can start checking out analog, digital and hybrid artists. Just a few suggestions, but there are of course tons out there for you to find:

Stefan Marjoram (analog & ProCreate, mostly cars)
Teoh Yi Chi (analog & ProCreate, Concepts..., urban sketching) - teohyc shared some in this very thread.
iPad for architects (digital Procreate, architecture)

Just my 2 cents ;)

I just recently ordered a pencil on Amazon. It looks like the  pencil but it was only $29.99 instead of the 69 for the crayon or 100 for . I am supposed to receive it on Sunday the 29th my order says. We will see how it is it’s from brand name Any Q .

The Apple pencil is the only one that has pressure sensitivity (thinner lines with less pressure, thicker lines with more pressure). The knock offs are probably fine for anything that doesn’t need pressure sensitivity. Art will likely be tricky unless you are simulating working with pencil, ink, markers (any tool that doesn’t change width based on pressure) but it’s a good start. For note taking and the like, you may not notice any difference.

If you're using Procreate, they no longer support styluses aside from Apple's.

There used to be a whole market of pressure sensitive styluses, and they were ok-ish, (I still have many!) but nothing compares to the Apple Pencil, not even close. If you want it to be similar to a real drawing experience you need the Apple Pencil, no cheaper stylus will cut it in comparison, at all.

Tilt sensitivity is a big deal, allowing you to shade with the side of the nib and cover larger areas, just like you would with a real pencil.

And you definitely need pressure sensitivity unless you’re doing certain types of vector work. It is not economically smart to save on the stylus, the stylus is the most important part of the drawing setup, and why I was able to sell most of my Wacom hardware. 🙂
