..."the intention of this thread was to appreciate iPhone's portrait mode, regardless of subject matter."

In that case, this thread really should be in the iPhone section, then, shouldn't it?
Okay maybe my phrasing was poor; how about, "...to appreciate photos taken with iPhone's portrait mode, regardless of subject matter." Or how about, "...to appreciate photos exhibiting the effects of iPhone's portrait mode, regardless of subject matter." Or how about ...to appreciate Digital Photography involving iPhone's portrait mode, regardless of subject matter." Or how about...etc, you know you understood the point.

iP 13mini wide lens in portrait mode with portrait :) It could be better, but I'm quite happy with the results. At the end it's just a phone ;)

It is not a "portrait." Yes, it is an image of a single rose and the background is intentionally blurry and meant to emphasize the primary subject, what we photographers usually refer to as "bokeh."

Personal pet peeve:

Bokeh is NOT the background being out of focus.

The background being out of focus is a product of shallow depth of field.

Bokeh refers to the CHARACTER of the out of focus background rendering.

Saying that a photo has "bokeh" is a grammatically incorrect statement. Saying "This lens produces very nice bokeh" is a valid statement.

Are there any edits done to this, or is this just a vanilla portrait mode picture?
