Shared with You photos not working

I am having issues with this getting to work as well.

Situation:

Someone sends me 2-3 photos in iMessage. I view them but do not click on the „save“ button.

I open the photos app, navigate to the for you section/ shared with you section. NONE of the photos appear there.

When I click on the „save“ button, still non of them appear in the „shared with you“ section.

After days sometimes maybe 1 out of a collection of photos appears in the „shared with you“ section.

What I don’t understand:

1. do I need to click on the save button at all?
2. is there something I can do to provoke the photos to appear in the shared with you section correctly?

weirdly it is working perfectly fine for safari and TV!

Normally you don’t have to click on the save button, it should work like for safari.
I’m still waiting to find a way to make them appear… Charging helps but isn’t a guarantee at all.

I am having issues with this getting to work as well.

Since the beginning when this feature was introduced I couldn't get this to work. Sometimes, charging overnight makes one of the latest received photos appear in the shared with you tab. Sometimes not. I can not figure out any criteria which photo will appear then... Looking into the imessages threads shows there should be dozens of photos added, but in total only 7 are.
Implementation is very poor for photos, and I already gave up on waiting for this to work. I am back to normal and manually adding and downloading photos. Very poor.

BTW: Pinning photos in the messages app is not possible, too. I think it is related.

This feature is garbage. It only shows maybe 7 photos for me out of hundreds in my messages.
