To even compare this to porn is an insult to good porn everywhere....

Good porn. Now there's an oxymoron. Porn is fake, stupid, a waste of time, and money (if you actually buy it).

As for the pic, yea she's partially nude. Is it a big deal? Depends who you ask.

There is a very, very small chance that a child would even come across this. It's not like the Newsstand advertisements are pictures of Angry Birds and Swampy, they're boring pictures of people. It's not something they'd venture into.

They sell the same magazine in plain sight at Barnes & Noble, next to magazines that have similar stuff. Same thing applies.

I never understood why nipples were such a big deal. We have all have nipples -- they're nothing mysterious.

Most of the world didn't have a problem with it until the rise of Christianity. In fact all the way up until the mid twentieth century it was quite common for women in Asia to walk around topless.

Orgies were also common.

Where is the proof that Christianity is the reason there was a supposed decline of nudity? From my understanding of history the Jews didn't like it much either and they've been around far, far longer.

Yes, but Jews rarely push their beliefs onto others. In fact it's strongly discouraged. In contrast Christians have historically pushed their beliefs and values quite vigorously. Sometimes even by threat of death.

True, but at this point it still seems to be an assumption of yours.

I base my "assumption" on historical evidence. Native American women also commonly walked around topless. Until the missionaries came in and pushed their values. And of course the change in Asia corresponds to the import of Christian-inspired western values.

Now I will point out that historically it was considered perfectly acceptable for a European women to breast feed in public. That silly phobia is quite modern (developing in response to the almost as modern notion that a women should stay at home to care for her children) . Moreover for a time (between the 16th and 19th centuries IIRC) it was considered perfectly acceptable for a French woman to expose her nipples simply as a fashion statement, even though ironically her bare shoulders would have been considered obscene.

I think you have this backwards. CHRISTians follow CHRIST, and He was the one that was killed (which didn't last long)...true Christians will never force anything..

Ready to be flamed in this thread in 3..2..1..

Nothing shocking or pornographic about it. Nude, yes. An ugly talentless piece of gangster trash, yes. NSFW, probably. The only thing shocking is that any magazine cares about Rihanna enough to put her picture in it.

Didn't last long? Wow. Do you really believe in a resurrection? Honestly, it's no wonder our country's education programs are such a joke. We teach people an absolutely ridiculous story about an invisible old man in the sky that someone sends his son, which is also him, to earth, only to be killed and supposedly come back to life (ZOMBIE!) 3 days later. Oh yeah, and he transfigured water into wine, and there were some bushes that talked. And a retarded story about a great global flood, the physics of which are beyond ridiculously impossible of ever occurring.

Seriously. Get some education people.

I don't think it's the OP, it's more that he knows the American reaction (he even says it doesn't bother him).

Thank you for actually reading my entire post! This doesnt bother me one bit. And I dont consider this porn and yes I'm a proud American.

I'm simply pointing out that Jobs on behalf of Apple was perfectly clear about how he felt and to see it on the App Store is shocking. Even if he isn't around anymore.

Um, Sermon on the Mount, and the incident with the money-lenders are both examples of pushing your beliefs on others...

Christians have a well organized and extensive missionary system to spread the word. It is Christians who come knocking on my door to ask me if I have taken Christ into my heart. I actually enjoy these visits - I see them as a chance to to do a little reverse missionarizing... I am not Christian, and I am very comfortable in beliefs. Plus I have a knack for asking awkward questions. Plus most Christians, imho, don't really know the Bible as well as they think they do. And if they do, it's a badly translated one. I like pulling out my Jewish Pentateuch with the translator's notes. I love it when our visitor exclaims "It says that???!!?!"

-------

Back to the topic...

OP - you said that Steve wouldn't porn on the site, and then pointed to a piece of non-porn (imo) to prove that things are different. But if it's not porn, then Steve would have allowed it.... so your argument is not, imho, a strong one. Plus...Steve is gone and there are going to be changes.

Yes it's not porn but still a revealing image that would typically not fly.

We will never know if this would have been posted.... all we have are our opinions. I would point out however, that the title on your OP called it "iPad Porn". So while your headline may have gotten people to read your thread, you also have to defend your linking of that image to porn.

No you're just perpetuating a non-issue to make an issue out of it. It's worse that you're not offended by the image and posting this garbage post because we can't say "Oh he's just ignorant".

It's defo not porn. More so tasteful, artistic, partial nudity. Try going to an art gallery once in a while. Or turn on the tv in the evening and you'll see way more stuff that's closer to porn.
If she was squatting over a phallic object then that may be considered pornographic or offensive to young viewers. If she was squatting over an iPad mini, then I would be offe...., no actually I would just laugh. :p heheh

Seriously, I think sicko gunmen are more offensive than an innocent picture like that. They do more harm to people.
