I've trialed every single grocery list app looking for the perfect one.

Grocery works best if you want to use Siri or Reminders to add stuff like I do (HomePods)

AnyList is probably the best if you use Alexa or Google Assistant to add things, or if you just intend to use the app as standalone - and I like its sorting better than anyone else's.

OurGroceries isn't too bad either, but I would take AnyList over it unless you're opposed to subscriptions.

We use Anylist :-

There is a subscription option but we've used the free one for a few years now and it works fine. You can share lists very easily so both users can update and see changes. We used to use it for groceries but now just do online shopping and have it delivered so we add to the weekly shop online as we go. We still use this app though to track whats in freezers, pantry etc. Its very handy for the freezers as we have two and it makes it far easier to track things down when you are rushing about in the morning to go to work and need to get something out for when you get back.
