Won’t see its full potential until majority of apps support Short cuts.

Would like to create workflows for example whereby i can search for certain train journeys within Trainline app rather than having to open it and look at favourites.

To use it also will need to think about workflows that i can make my life easier with shortcuts.

My "going home" shortcut is almost complete. I'd just like to know if it's possible, I haven't found a way yet, to open up Spotify and play a particular playlist on shuffle. Assume Spotify has to update before this can happen?

Am i seeing this correctly that shortcut Siri commands arent synced between devices??? For real? Or is it just some bug?

Here’s one I created that lets you automatically text someone you’re traveling to visit with your current location and how long until you arrive. The best part is that you input their name using Siri!

Note: The contact has to be in your address book with a street address.

Since I can’t post links (they aren’t working), I’ll post screenshots of how this works (I apologize for not stitching them but Tailor is thrown off by screenshots that are similar)

Btw if you pass travel time to Format Date it’ll give you an ETA (just sharing this in case it’s not obvious, it wasn’t to me)
[doublepost=1537222495][/doublepost]Here’s a Convert to GIF shortcut I modified from the stock one in the gallery. Rather than prompt for photos, it’s now a share sheet workflow designed to be run after you’ve already selected them in Photos (or whatever). And after giving you a preview, you get the option to save it.

I find it a bit disappointing that cancelling an alert just leaves you on the workflow screen rather than cancelling out of the share action completely- oh well!

I did this in another Shortcut by using Adjust Date. Multiple ways to skin the feline!

I created a shortcut that gets the travel time but it uses Google Maps (Apple Maps) is basically useless where I live. I will share it later.

I want to make a shortcut that will open Audible, play the last played book, then open Waze. But when I "Open App" the shortcut just stops there.

With the Open App action, that’s what you get. Audible may have its own Siri Shortcut actions. Check the app (if it’s been updated).

If it doesn’t have its own actions, try this: Open Audible. Then open your book. Once you’ve done that, go to Shortcuts and select the category of Actions called Siri Suggestions and see if that Open Book action shows up. If it does, you can add it as an action in your Shortcut and then add Open Waze as the next action.

Been looking around the app, and I’m almost sure this is not possible, but I figured I’d ask just to confirm. Find Friends isn’t supported?

What I wanted to set up was a shortcut to say “when I’m there” and have it automatically text the person I am picking up when I arrive in their geolocated area. It’d be really handy for the myriad times I go get my wife from here and there, and I could tell her I’ve arrived without texting in the car, or waiting until I’m actually there.

Thanks!

Thanks so much. I had built a similar shortcut when Workflows came out but was trying to figure out how to get voice input from Siri to pass along. All my initial efforts were triggering default Siri actions.

I haven't seen Find Friends yet. I wish Apple had expanded on the initially iOS app capabilities that are already interactive. Many of the shortcuts are useful but not the first things I think of asking an assistant to do. But hopefully it is in there but hidden or on the way.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately it doesn’t show in Siri Suggestions and the app hasn’t updated yet. I guess I’ll wait for the update.

Keep trying in Suggestions. Not sure what triggers its appearance, but it can take multiple attempts.

Currently trying to get a contacts phone numbers and have it distinguish which is Mobile and which is home. I can get it to retrieve the contacts numbers but can’t find how to get just the mobile without me having to choose it specifically hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
