Couldn't agree more! While my wife's 2013 iMac keeps on a chugging, although with an SSD that I upgraded, I've been through many problems with the 2016 and then 2019 ultra thin MacBook Pro. 3 swollen batteries in the past 3 years and a logic board replacement and still runs hot so that I have to turn off Turbo Boost. This was a painful "Rev. 1" lesson. My 2019 iMac is being delivered today! Selling the MBP and LG monitor. The iMac is by far their most problem-free computer. And it's always silent. What are people waiting for exactly? A new body where the iMac and much thinner, causing more fan noise and other rev 1 problems?
The current iMac, with a SSD, is awesome. Don't buy it with a spinning drive.
The 2019 iMac is an awesome computer. And the new iMac will definitely have 1st gen bugs.I ordered 2019 iMac you see in my signature in mid december 2019 but thanks to mix up it arrived in half february 2020. I needed powerhorse for work in Lightroom because my 2017 27-inch with i5 was not cutting it. Anyway, COVID came and lot of my jobs were postponed to fall 2020 or even summer 2021 which means I could've waited for 2020 model. But I didn't know that beforehand. So now I cheer myself that maybe it will be more expensive and also 1st gen will have bugs.

Check the refurb store on apple they just restockedSo I guess I got my answer for new iMacs. Still trying to find a 27” 2019 iMac from a local retailer but they’re still all sold out.

I think I'm going to just get an iMac pro refurb for now as my 2013 iMac has possible supply issues . For the 4250 price I can hang with that for a while . It should be than enough computer for some timeThe new ones look like they're back in stock too. I really wish Costco would get these in again. The extra 4 year warranty is hard to beat. Maybe I'll hang onto this one for a little bit longer and see if Costco gets them in again.
Man, you were confident.New model will be released at WWDC June 22 with availability in the following next 2 weeks.
100% worth it.
I missed the keynote today. have been waiting to replace my 2015 core i7 iMac. so...no iMac update today?
so...no iMac update today?
No but one is coming, Tim said at the end there was a new iMac coming, with intel processors. I suspect it will be like recent updates, dropped on the Apple store at some point with no fanfare.

I expect you'll be happy with that decision. Even though the iMac 2019 i9 runs a tad cooler than the iMac 2017 i7, my 2019 still has Macs Fan Control installed to bump up the fans ( earlier than Apple would ) as its temperature increases. Other software besides Macs Fan Control might be better for your circumstances. My 2019 iMac is being delivered today!.
If you can do it.Ugh. Wit the new 2020 iMac's being released I'm super tempted to return my 2019 27" iMac and get the new one instead. What's everyone's opinion on this? Is it worth it or should I just keep my current machine?
