well, I have an even tougher choice to make. I brought a macbook off amazon more than a week ago and its gonna be here today!! It will be my first mac but I gotta decide if I want to open it or not. If its brand new I could easily return it for a full refund or take it to the apple store for store credit. What should I do???

Should I Buy a New Macbook Right Now

I so want to buy a Macbook right now, but I just know I should wait until the revision, since it really can't be far off now.
Hell, I'm better off than most of the Macbook procrastinators I've only been itching to buy since Saturday.

but if I buy now I get a free iPod - that is my issue. I know i want a MacBoook, and have waited this long, but being a student I can get an iPod Nano for free. I do not own an iPod and honestly do not have the disposable income to spend on one.
At the same time I do not want to get one and then two weeks later they are updated to Core 2. I am also a bit worried about quality, this guy will have to last at least three years.
figure I will wait till Sept 12th, but the free iPod offer ends Sept 16th, I could see Apple updating the MacBook after the 16th just because.

My plans changed completely today.
I was all set to go for the 2.0 White refurb, but SOMEBODY got the one that was there all morning, before I could order this afternoon, So I ordered a new stock
MB at the education store.
I was really looking forward to that refurb candy goodness, but Oh Well, it's not for me anyway.
If you're hunting refurbs, they do go fast, but more will usually be there in a day or two, I just ran out of time.
At least I can hope that IF Apple does update the MacBooks next week, my daughter might benefit from the update.
If not, she'll still be very happy.
