I’m along the same lines. Really sick of the sheer heft of the Plus models now so want something smaller without too much screen sacrifice. Am I alone in thinking the X Plus is going to be complete overkill in terms of screen size?

Well bigger is always better right?

I think by the time the new iPhones are announced I would say the 256-X will in the 700.00 range used so the 64 will probably be around 600, looking at what iPhone-X's sell for now used.

Lower the better since I am interested in the X too. I would buy it over the LCD model if there is no Band 71.

Well it also depends on the carrier. Certain carriers In the US have a higher resale value for example verizon iPhones have a higher re-sale value vs. Sprint.

As long as the sprint iphone is paid off, it will be unlocked and the same version as the verizon iphone.

I always prefer Verizon models, but Apple makes it hard to buy them initially as they did with the X at launch.

SIM free is the best option and I hope they offer it day 1. If T-Mobile gives me the best trade in value, then I’ll give them my 8+ to get the LCD model.

Ya that is true. Whenever I sell a iPhone I always get more people who contact me because its a Verizon iPhone. In the US Apple never launches Sim-Free iPhones for the first month of a new phone coming out.

Ironically, the 8+ was available day 1 SIM free I think because the demand for the 8+ wasn’t going to be like the X at launch.

Ahh. I think the main reason they did is because of Re-sellers who buy the Phones and ship them overseas. They wanted to hold sim-free phones for that first month.

A Verizon model still works just as well. Same with those who get the outright versions of the other carriers since the rest of the world uses GSM. Idk if Qualcomm modems benefits the international community much more than Intel does, but if the bands are there? Plenty of people can take advantage of outright purchased products. What they do is force you to be a customer of the carrier.

Be patient. If you buy now you may regret it. If you wait, you will not regret anything, as the time frame is short.

Not a difficult choice.

You may be waiting a while so be aware

When the new ones come out they will probably be sold out in most places so you have to be quick

I would also wait a couple of months after they are released to see if they're are any major problems with them such as software issues etc...

Not really, Its not that hard to Pre-order and get one on launch day.

Why I am waiting:
  • I am on T-Mobile, so I want LTE band 71 (600 MHz) support
  • Faster and improved FaceID
  • Possibility of $100 price cut on the 5.8" model
  • Even cheaper 6.1" LCD might be enough for my needs, and I am intrigued about more color choices
  • Improved camera on 5.8" model (larger sensor)
  • Gorilla Glass 6 for more durable glass (iPhone X is infamous for screen that scratches easily)
