I bought a Space Grey model.

I checked up a Silver model in the store, but found the thin silver border a little distracting.
Dark borders on screens have a reason, they blend in better with the actual panel and don't distract as much.
i recommend the space grey iPad. if you watch movies in the dark it is much less noticeable

I got the silver model because I am going to use a skin anyway.

A dark skin with silver contrast is amazing.

Get a “Matrix” skin from dBrand for the silver iPad Pro and pair it up with a red, Yellow or orange camera skin.

Or get a red dragon skin for the silver iPad Pro and pair it up with the black dragon camera skin

Have a look.

Why get one that everyone has?

Get something special and make it even more special.

Everything gadget now comes in space gray. Time for a change.

In the past Silver models were white in the front. Now it’s black.

Space grey is pretty nice glad they’re going darker for space grey but silver

Blends with smart connectors on the back better and the protruding camera imo

And it’s a good OG nostalgia color

I wanted space grey, but Best Buy only had silver. I almost always get silver and I remembered why - the space grey was chipping off my iPhone 5 so I vowed never to get it again. Had forgotten about that, so am glad I got the silver at the end of the day, but I think the space grey looks so sharp.

Space grey is more prone to small scratches. You can have them on silver too but they are less visible.

IPad Pro is too expensive a device to even have to notice the slightest scratches. Not everyone is super rich.

Get a skin a enjoy the device more.

The silver color from the silver model gives a nice contrast to dark colored skins like the black ones.

DBrand skins don’t cover the sides. That is why i have arranged for a clear 3M protection for the sides so the silver will be noticed after applying the skin on the sides.

I got the Matrix skin from DBrand along with Red, orange and yellow camera skins

May I ask where you purchased the clear 3M side/edge skins from? Thanks!

Space grey on the new iPad Pro and MacBook Pros are sexy. Too bad it's a darker shade than my 2016 MacBook Pro.

Pros for both IMO. I like that the space grey looks more uniform with the screen. The reason I do like the silver though is because it is reminiscent of the iPad 1, which I do love as well.

If given the choice, I would go with the grey; but it appears I will be buying a silver since someone locally is selling an unopened silver version for $100 lower than retail (+ saving over $100 on tax!)

I dont think you could go wrong either way.

I always went space grey wothu T even thinking about it. This time I went with silver because they had it in stock with the 512g I wanted. I wasn’t thrilled but I have the white folio and I think the silver edges look better with the white folio.

Just personal preference...or mind justification. Lol.

I might be in the minority here, but I've never been a fan of the Space Gray color, especially since Apple's shade of Space Gray changes every few years. For electronic devices, it's either full black, silver, or white (only stuff like Apple keyboard/mouse).

The only reason I chose Space Gray iPad/iPhone in the past was because of the black bezel. Now that iPad Pro Silver has a black bezel, I was tempted to buy it, but in the end I pulled the trigger on the Space Gray iPad 2018 a few hours ago (couldn't justify a 2x price tag, especially since it won't be my laptop replacement any time soon).

My next purchases will definitely be a silver MacBook Pro, a matte/glossy black iPhone, and maybe the silver iMac if my budget allows.

There are probably lots of different brands, but I really like BestSkinsEver.com. The fit is great, and they have matte finish skins in addition to glossy. I've used these on my Mac laptops and iPads for several years and really like the look.

I had the space grey one and hated it. I had to return it for a new one, even if I had to wait another 2 weeks for it! Best decision.

I’ve got the a space gray 11”, and while I think Space gray is the best looking color. The finish is extremely fragile and your aluminum bezel can very easily scuff showing a shiny aluminum metal underneath. So, I’d say the silver would look better overtime with wear as it will match the scuff marks.

Space grey model once scratched will be silver.’

Silver model once scratched will not look as bad.

Get grey if you are sure you won’t scratch your device.

Just imagine one day you notice a silver scratch mark on the grey model.

That's the reason I get silver in everything... I hate obvious scratches and silver masks them best. I don't think a lot of people think about that when considering color options. Silver all the way.

Exactly this for me. Initially got a 2020 Space Grey 11” model which had the aluminum finish chipping off right out of the box revealing the Silver underneath. Exchanged it for Silver and haven’t looked back.

I’ve heard this before, and I’ve seen it happen on my son’s iPad 2 (Granted he’s not very careful with it.) With my 11” iPad Pro though, I had the Smart Keyboard Folio and thought for sure that over time the rubbery slots where it rested when propped up would rub material off the edges, but that never happened. I am glad that the Magic Keyboard on my 12.9” eliminates the need for the iPad to rub against that rubber exterior every time I prop it up so it’s not even a worry anymore.
