Hi everyone! I am using an Asus laptop and looking to get a new Macbook Air for the first time in my life. Basically I just use my laptop for light work (email, ms office stuff, spotify) & catching some youtube videos, netflix and football matches. With that being said, storage isn't a big deal for me. Well, I'm experiencing a great deal of indecision.

Actually, my budget is enough for one of the two devices that I mentioned, but if I can save bucks I prefer to save it instead. Which one should I get based on my needs? Thanks so much!

Unless you want the new form factor, the budget play is to go for the M1 Air from the Apple refurb store. Currently $849 with a nice guarantee.

The advantages to the M2 - slightly faster processor and it will get updates for a year or two longer. For the purposes you lay out, performance should be about on par b/w the machines.
