Isn't Vista based on XP, with a lot of under the hood improvements and UI improvements?

And XP was 98 with a lot of under the hood and UI improvements. What's your point?

Hahaha... Funny... Seems like everyone's a troll to you.

Ok, well... I've been working in in corporate IT going on 20 years, starting with a gig as a unix admin/systems manager. I think that pretty well makes me an uncool guy walking into an Apple Store, but does qualify me to comment on what's going on in corp IT.

Anyway.... for an interesting read on 64 bit, check this out:

Also, how can I be an "XP Fanboy" when I personally own 2 Ultimate licenses and 1 Premium? Amongst my cronies I'm the one that's the Vista Fanboy because I actually run it at all. I've also been running it since the first Technet beta was released and have kept up with every beta release since then, including a couple of revs of Win7.

I call everyone a troll? No, only the people who spew lies, FUD, and BS.

And that article; an Adobe blog? From December 2006 no less.

I don't understand.

Isn't that what "a lot of under the hood improvements and UI improvements" means?

Please elaborate.

Under the hood improvements can be just as simple as changing the OS's under the hood stuff. A kernel upgrade is a big thing which took place between XP to Vista.

However, for Vista to Windows 7, its mostly just OS under the hood stuff, not much on the kernel, which in turn points that Windows 7 is just Vista, just a "Service Pack 10" version of it.
